Kiss DP-600

Advantages: Plays all the content and file types you can throw at it
Disadvantages: Plenty of bugs, little firmware updates and the Online Extras are useless

I have owned the Kiss DP-600 player since the day it came out. So far it has not failed to play a media type thrown at it. Unfortunatly Kiss have only released a few firmware updates. The player is still full of Bugs. For example - *a Green screen when the player turns on *Difficulty in Upgrading and Downgrading Firmware *HDMI issues still (my HDMI decided it would stop working) *Access speeds from USB port to an External usb HDD make high definition ...

And looking around you can buy HD media player which is more up to date than the Kiss 600. At one stage my kiss player failed to load for about a month i tried to downgrade the firmware to reset it did this about 20-30 times then it came back to life. EVA 9150-great addition to my living room; not to my bank

Advantages: Massive file range, incredible wireless networking, quiet, looks good
Disadvantages: Simply too costly right now - extra features do not justify price

This machine is fantastic - it has even converted the wife who is as Luddite as they come. Its connection speeds with my router are pheomenal, using the n-standard, and I've been able to stream HD video from my router upstairs to this downstairs effortlessly. Misses out Windows Media Centre altogether (good thing!) and simply indexes your shared folders on whatever is your server. For me, I have a 1TB MyBook attached to my router and this works perfectly. ...
...so you can back up your DVDs and keep them scratch free somewhere safe. 500GB hard drive is useful for your favourite stuff - easily managed too. The outputs on the back are extensive - the picture quality through the HDMI even when upscaling is superb. Eltax DVR - 555 HD - DVD BREAKS EASILY

Advantages: cophy video to dvd via hard drive
Disadvantages: dvd player can break down. Should not need to replace whole machine

I own A eltax dvr - 555 HD from Hughes some 3 years and half years ago and now the dvd within the machine is not working. Will not play or eject a dvd when you put one in. The hard drive still works and you can view what is saved on there. Bit of pain when I was trying to copy videos onto Dvd via the hard drive. Also the cover has run out on it. If anyone knows of where I could get a replacement dvd for it please help. Apart from this problem ...
