Comedians try to relieve the horrors
Advantages: use of humour to get money for a good cause Disadvantages: The suffering of those that need help
...does somehow nudge on the Comic relief Red Nose theme I thought I’d write this here anyway.
* WHAT IS COMIC RELIEF..?
Comic relief is a fundraising idea from the brains of Lenny Henry and his fellow comedians during 1985.
It originally started, in a small camp in Sudan, with the intentions of opening up the plight of people living in poverty in the UK and Africa.
It has now become a fund raising event, held every two years, hosted by the ... ...when some people watch the Comic relief programming they simply want to see their favourite celebrities so they can catch up on what they’re doing, and to be frankly honest, most of these ‘celebrities’ just simply want to get their faces on the small screen, but if the full truth came out, if the British government allowed the broadcasting of the hidden horrific horrors that are possibly still happening, then maybe the people who reside in one of ...

Comic Relief without the Comics it Seems
Advantages: Does such good work in raisining money for the charity Disadvantages: Makes you sick of the sight of the red noses sometimes!
When Lenny Henry first started Comic Relief, it was I understood a way of raising money through comedy turns etc. Unfortunately I think some of the comedy has left Comic Relief.
A considerable number of celebrities have indeed been involved over the years - including John Cleese, Billy Connolly, Whoopie Goldberg, Ruby Wax, Dawn French, etc etc etc.
It was a fantastic idea and has raised a huge amount of money ALL of which I believe goes to help ... ...This year (2007) there was Comic Relief Does Fame Academy - goodness me it was awful. OK we do not expect everyone to be able to sing - indeed the point is to get them to improve during the course of the show. But this year had the most awful contestants. Only two of them could sing at all - Shaun Williamson (Eastenders) and Tricia Penrose (Heartbeat). Easily the most awful person on there was Tara Palmer-Tomkinson. Although some of the others started ...

Doing My head In
Advantages: You're helping the kids Disadvantages: you can't stop singing it
Picture this:-
A popular TV character marches along miming to a popular old song.
Behind him are two more TV characters also marching along. These characters change repeatedly throughout the video.
The scenery behind changes to familiar places.
Can't be even remotely funny can it?
Shouldn't be should it?
Well blow my socks of IT'S ONE OF THE FUNNIEST THINGS I'VE SEEN IN AGES.
I am of course refering to Peter Kay's hilarious contribution to ... ...good record stores for 3.99 all of which goes to help those who need it most.
I can't explain why such a setting should be or is so funny. It should be boring but it isn't. from the second his cheeky face starts miming Amarillo I was in stitches. The entrance of Deirdrie and Ken, set me off again while the next few entrances
kept me amused. I was merrily singing along with a small smile on my face then wollop I was in stiches again up popped Sooty ...

'THIS' IS THE WAY TO AMARILLO!
Advantages: Great Fun! Cheers You Up! Ronnie Corbett Cracks You Up! Disadvantages: None!
...above, all in one!
Comic Relief Red Nose Day 05!
~WHAT’S IT ABOUT?~ ‘(Is this the way to) AMARILLO’ has become RND 05’s unofficial anthem for this year knocking the spots off McFly.
It’s a worth while cause RND, and if you haven’t given any money to it yet this is the way to do it.
The video is well made and it’s really funny, if you haven’t seen it, it’s all in fun, uplifting and the best bit is when Ronnie Corbett falls over, they were going ... ...it’s so funny and they put it into the end of the video.
Amarillo original was released by 70’s crooner Tony Christie in 1972 and topped number 18 in the charts, as a result of this, he has re-released his album ‘The Definitive Collection’, which to me is typical, only do something for charity only if you get something back in return, anyway, its not much cop unless you like him, his songs are generally quite boring to me, but saying that, each ...
