This is the latest installment of the CnC series. It didn't seem so long a go that i was playing the original game...how time fly's by. I have to say that of all of the CnC series i utlerly enjoyed playing on this one the best.

Unlike the previous games in the series, CnC Generals have adopted a whole new look. By making full use of a brilliant 3d engion and updating the graphics this is an already massive hit.

Set in the not to distant future CnC Generals allows you to pick 1 of 3 allegencies, weather it be the Americans, china of the Gla (a large group of international terroists) that take your fancy you are sure to be subdued by the addictive nature of this game.

At the start of the game the first few missions are trainers. These prepare you for raging battles against enemy forces which have, in some way, shape, or form disrespected your beliefs. Most of the time in the first few missions you will probablyy be guarding something but the action soon builds up to deliver a deadly dose of fast pace action.

Unlike prevous titles in the series you have been required to harvest up raw materials form the ground weather it be tiberium like in the previous titles. CnC Generals has tried to steer away form that way as you are now requested to collect resources from around the map. These are usually little boxes or you can capture oil refinarys to finance yur operation. Collecting resources now though seems to be more automatic so you do not have to send your Chinnocks, trucks and slaves to collect your rewards.

Although it's not too difficult, CnC Generals offers a fair number of challenges in its 24 single-player missions. Once you've become familiar with each faction's selection of units, the best form of Defence is attack. Unlike Tiberian sun and Red Alert it takes alot longer to build up your army.

Once you have masterd playing the game in single player the action doesnt stop there as you can play online against your fellow foes. The online gameplay is very fair aswell as the servers have a built in filter which helps stop haudes of good players battering a group of weaker players. With a good connection rate the game online is seemingly lag free.

Another great featur of the online game is that you can download custome maps and there is a built in map editor so you can create your wn maos for everyone to enjoy.

Summary

Graphics: 5/5
CnC Generals offers some of the best visuals ever seen in a strategy title. The game makes effective use of the 3D engion, and its units, buildings, terrains, and explosions look fanatstic. To take full advantage of the graphics i would recommend a top of the range pc. The landscape in the game are also phenomonal.

Sound: 4/5
Each Team has its own set of musical themes, and the voice acting adds personality throughout. There are also some loud explosions thrown in for added realisme.

Gameplay: 4.5/5
The game play is addictive. Once you have mastered many of the tactics and won all the medals you may find your self begging to test yourself against human players. Everytime you play online you are faced with a new challenge so it doesnt get broing.

Price: 3/5
The price varies from around £30 - 35 pounds. Although this may seem a tad expensive i am sure you will get endless fun playing this game.

Where can i get if from: 5/5
There are many places in the uk you can get it from. I got hold of my copy form GAME but you can pcik it up form almost any computer games store like Virign Mega store ect. You can also purchase it off the net.

System Requirements:
Windows 98/2000/ME/XP(Windows 95/NT not supported)

I love C&C, so when I get around to building my PC [read: money], this will be one of the first games I buy.
