Red Alert 2 is an outstanding game. Like all of the other C&C games, this game is a very playable and great game. Four types of play have kept me occupied every since it was released. The graphics arent as good as Tiberian Sun, being more 'childish' than Tiberian Sun, however there is much better gameplay, better and more units, and a lot more possibilities.
The main type of play is the missions. You can either be Soviet or Allies. With the Allies you attempt missions which increase in difficulty as the game progress, which follow a very good story line. A man named Yuri (a physic bloke) takes over the mind of the president of Russia, so he can be in control. He then attempts to take over the whole world using his physic powers. You aim is to stop his attempts which include people taking over your men, and people from your own country turn against you.
Being Soviet, is the opposite of above, attempting to take over the world. As the game progress missions become tougher and more technology becomes avaliable, more units!!!
Another gmae is a a skirmish game. Here you pit your wits against the computer, who could be better, but is still a good aspect of the game. Here you can practice tactics etc. against a very annoying computer who builds too much defense!!!
With Red Alert 2 you can play a skirmish game with a friend or two, over a network. Red Alert 2 offers two discs so not even two different games are required. This is great fun, and my friends and I spend many hours playing each other.
If you dont have a network at home, simply hook up to the internet and join in with around 100,000 others who play online. You can either play tournament matches, by yourself or in a clan. Or play friendly's with others. Playing in a tournament match gets you a rank from Westwood, which can even win you prizes.
Each country has it's own speciality, America have paratroopers, Korea have Black Eagle Jets etc. to give you the edge over someone else.
Overall and excellent game with endless hours of fun, a must buy for any gaming fanatic!!!

Advantages: Smoother, faster, brighter, highly more efficient and the game play is superior to previous Command and Conquer games. Disadvantages: Installation was tricky plus it needs a high spec of PC plus loads of memory. Game background is not very believable!
Advantages: Few bugs, inventive new units, compelling gameplay Disadvantages: Gets boring after about 2 weeks, TERRIBLE AI, few new ideas, seen it all before
