the Brotherhood of Nod, an equally well-armed religious order. Players may play either side as the factions fight to control an ecologically ravaged Earth. The key to winning is tiberium, a plant that serves as raw material for weapons and factories. Controlling this powerful fuel source allows you to generate funds, raise armies and fend off destruction.Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sunis a simple combat simulator that allows the player to gather resources, turn them into soldiers and unleash them against the foe. The game runs in real time, so events can turn against you quickly, but if one is cautious and observant, the battles are not too hard to win.Though their missions are different, the two sides are essentially interchangeable, with identical military discipline and similar battle units. Though the Brotherhood of Nod has fascist trappings and is obviously the villain, there is no significant difference in playing one side or the other. The game also lacks female battle units, though it features a few women in interstitial sequences.Despite these weaknesses,Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sunis thoroughly entertaining and will satisfy anyone who enjoys building an army from the ground up and testing it on the battlefield.--Alyx Dellamonica

add-on that will certainly appeal to fans ofTiberian Sun. Like every game in theCommand&Conquerseries,Firestormlets you play as either the Global Defence Initiative (GDI) or the Brotherhood of NOD. Each side gets nine new missions to undertake, with both sides struggling to tie up loose ends left over from theTiberian Sungame. While there aren't very many new missions in this expansion pack, fans of the series will appreciateFirestorm's solid mission design and variety of new units.GDI players get to build and command mobile EMP cannons, long-range Juggernaut artillery units and the mighty mobile war factory, which allows you to build military units at just about any location on the battlefield. NOD players get a mobile stealth generator, a diabolical cyborg unit called the Reaper, and their own version of the mobile war factory, dubbed The Fist of NOD. In addition, many of the originalTiberian Sununits have been upgraded or enhanced inFirestorm.Another cool feature is the new World Domination multiplayer mode. In World Domination, literally thousands of players can take part in a tournament between GDI and NOD, as each side tries to take over the entire world. With the world map divided up into many small regions, players attempt to help their side by winning one region at a time. Once one side has control of the entire globe, the game resets.Despite the hype surrounding its development and release,Command&Conquer: Tiberian Sundid little to revolutionise the real-time strategy genre. It did, however, provide more of the classic RTS game play that made the originalCommand&Conquerand itsRed Alertprequel so popular. The same holds true forCommand&Conquer Tiberian Sun: Firestorm. --Michael E. Advantages: Excellent, addictive gameplay, exciting storylines, entertaining videos and cut scenes, brilliant array of units!!! Disadvantages: Too one sided NOD have a huge advantage over GDI, and you cannot save the video cut scenes which is frustrating!

Alas the true birth of command and conquer is finally here, some of us have waited an eternity to see the outstanding strategy, and gripping storylines rise above the rest of computer gaming. After the abismal release of the embarrassing command and conquer which was later relased on consoles such as the playstation and N64 many found the game so bad that it was unplayable,Westwood deperately needed ideas to boost a franchise and in my opinion make a line of some of the finest pc games ever made. After useless expansions and weak storlines followed by reidiculously weak upgrades to units,Red alert was born.
Allthough Red alert was also released in the same way as it's predasesor it became a huge hit due to it's great Russia vs Allies death maches. The weak graphics were not enough to put young americans and britains off of the gripping storylines, after the cold war whcih seemed to be built up by the americans and made Russia out to be the bad guys who did'nt even use one of their nukes on civilians,i guess many in a way felt downright dumb to have been so worried over a media build up. Red alert in my opinion is the response to the end of the cold war and became one of the most important pc games of the decade.
After it's huge success and after a barrage of expansions TIBERIAN SUN was born out of no where. In 1999 tiberium was born at an exciting time, the matrix was released along with star wars episode 1,the milenium was in site,it was a very exciting time, and tiberian sun was a very exciting game.
THE STORY
Tiberian sun is a sequal to the weak unheard of Tiberian dawn, set in he early 21st centuary where tiberian dawn left off.The long struggle between the soviets and allies is over untill a meteorite carrying a mysterious resourse called tiberian hits earth and the mysterious mineral which contains a large economic importance starts growing out of control, the greed of Nod aim to wipe out their enemy's GDI and grab this economic resource. The mysterious Kane who was presumed dead previously in the saga has returned with a vengeance.
The army is split into 3 factions,GDI, NOD and the mutants.Nod have all the advantages in the game, missiles, stealth generators, hi tech weaponry and of course the master of disaster the artillary units.Gdi are a bit more less advanced and deteriated to nod, they have ridiculous units like the mamoth which cost about 5 grand and get destroyed instantly,no but GDI's greatest strengh lies in it's air armada, build an army of ORCA BOMBERS and your unstopable.Unlike red alert 2 most units cannot seek out new land in the fog of war which is frustrating, only useless and ridiculously slow units such as air infantry can.The disc throwers are gdi's greatest asset only 200 each and can fire and destroy units which are well out of range. Finall the mutants which appear in the odd gdi end missions lead by the mysterious tratos these humans have been disfugured by tiberium and have mutated to gain incredible strengh and skills, they aid Gdi's struggle against nod and Kane.
GDI UNITS
GDI have the basic array of infantry, light infantry which are just mere soldiers, the amazingly good disc throwers which can fire out of range through the use of their bouncing discs, the useless jump jet infantry which are good none the less for seeking out the fog of war and new land, and of course the medics and engineers which are useful but unarmed.
The wolverines are an amazing asset against light infantry and fire rapid amounts of ammunition, but are vulnerable against tanks and artillery. The titans are usefull against structures and armoured units and can fire up a cliff and out of range. The APC is basically a unit carrier similar to the hovercraft, the MLRS is a hovercraft which can again fire onto cliffs and fire out of enemy range.Disrupters are very advanced but are very vulnerable, try getting a convoy of them with wolverines and titans as protection. The mamoths are pretty usless and expensive but are great as a defensive unit with a sensor array whcih can detect enemy movement. The orca fighters are mere helicopters with pathetic machine guns on,however it's advanced version the orca bomber is GDI'S FINEST UNIT and can destroy a whole base when part of a squaron instantly. There are many carriers and transports as well for the GDI army.
The defensive towers and components lack efficiency and when are left to fight a mere couple of tanks you will find them destroyed and your base overan. The 2 greatest structures on the GDI side:
THE FIRESTORM DEFENSE: This can stop enemy missiles from reaching your base and remains the ultimate defensive structure in the game, however beware it also knocks out your planes, may a times when i have built an expensive orca bomber air armada to destroy a base when they return and a missile has been launched you press the geberator button and your armada gets kncoked down,it is very frustrating.
THE ION CANNON: Remains a very powerful alternative to NODs missiles. Can pretty much accurately destroy anything, however it takes an eternity to charge up and remains a waste of money in my opinion.
I have come to the conclusion that GDI are a worse off alternative to Nod and have worse units and a huge dissadvantage, but togther with the disc throwers and orca bombers they remain the ultimate enemy to NOD and are not to be underestimated!
NOD UNITS
They consist of the basic light infantry, but have rocket infanry which are long range and can attack air units.Cyborgs are ridiculously evil they're so effective against infantry, and take an age to destroy well hehe they take an age to move as well.Cyborg commandos are magical and mysterious units to emerge from the temple of nod are very fierce against well anything that's tupid enough to challenge it!
Nod have the sneaky underground vehicles which are a real bugger against in missions and emerge anywhere on the map,APC'S are the transports and the bleedin Flame tanks can as a trio burn a base to cinders arghhh they're so anoying.Attack cycles and stealth tanks are usefull rocket firing vehicles and can fire out of range and onto cliffs. The tick tanks are actually a lot better than basic tanks in the command and conquer series, they can deploy and fire out of range at enormous speed and power everything goes BOOM!!
Ahhhh the most deadly, ridiculously good unit in the whole game, we come to the artillery's they're pretty cheap and when deployed can waste anything in shrapnel even when half way across the bleedin battlefield jeeesh.Harpy's are just mere gun choppers and the banshees trust me are like the mamoth cough very overated, don't get me wrong they're very effective against mere units but those plasma guns are very naff!
At last we come to NODs finest structures:
THE STEALTH GENERATOR:
This baby can submerge a whole base under a cloak and remain undetected for ages, you can hide all of your missile silos and hidden obelisks out of enemy sight,it is ridiculously good, hehe and what do GDI get mere firestorm generators that last 30 seconds!!!
THE OBELISK OF LIGHT:
Literally can anything survive a single shot from this hidden baby, towering high above all units this master of disaster fires and destroys before enem units even reach firing range!
THE MISSILE SILOS:
The mother of all tiberian technology chemical missiles can poison and destroy and damage a base from miles away, where as the cluster missiles can destroy an entire base hehe, the firestorm generator remains GDIs only defense against NODs ridiculously advanced tech missiles!
The gameplay and levels are exceptional only if you play red alert 2 and suddenly swich back to tiberian sun will you notice it's much slower speed and unit responses. The levels are well thought out and contain useful amounts of tiberian veins and crystals together with civillian buildings and bridges which of course brilliantly can be destroyed. The main disadvantages are that civillian buildngs cannot be garrisoned and most maps only contain small patches of tiberian crystals so the only income can run out instantly, that's why tech buildings and oil rigs were devised in the later Red alert 2,it just shows how influential this game has become, many have used it as the blueprint and the looking glass to more advanced games in the millenium, this truly is the finest game of the 20th centaury!!!
This game is a improvement on the oringal Commando & Conquer but it was not the massave improvent that many people where hoping for. For example gameplay has not changed much, People who have play C&C will be able to learn how to play this within a few minutes. I did. Don't get me wrong Tiberian Sun is still a great game for a number of reasons.
Improved graphics: There are no blockey graphics like in the origial C&C. The graphics are all in a higher ... ...mood and attitude to the battlefield more than ever before. There are now some missions set at night and searchlights to intensify the thrill and excitement.
Living battlefield: This is a great feature off the game. Flying shrapnel, shockwaves and crashing debris.
The enviorment now plays a bigger part in your attack plan. There are now ion storms which prevent some of the more high-tech unit such as the MRLV for moving. There is also destructible ...

...the third installment of the Command and Conquer series. At its most basic level the Command and Conquer series provides a strategy gaming experience of immense and elaborate proportions. Tiberian Sun is no exception. The game reintroduces the near-apocalytic world of the future, where good and evil are divided by the forces that are the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of Nod. There are two CDs - each one dedicated to a separate ... ...after another. Each level is linked to the other with video scenes (real actors too!), so I got the sense of being part of a storyline, and not just mindlessly blowing things up. Much has been improved from the previous C&C games. A great deal more is made of the background and landscape, with such things as Ion storms, forest fires, and destructible terrain to keep the gamer busy. The lighting levels are constantly changing which gives the whole ...

Advantages: Two discs so you can lend one to a friend for multiplayer, you can change the graphical detail if its running to slow(very usefull in multiplayer) Disadvantages: Dont know about anyone else but I have to have Firestorm installed for the game to work.
I didn't get this game until quite a while after release as I misread the minimum requirements and thought that it wouldn't work on my PC (duh!). Anyway, I later discovered my mistake and sold some old games in order to scrape together enough cash. When I went to the shop I found that the price had been raised so I had to go home and beg for some money from my mum. When I gt back, the shopkeeper for some unexplained reason gave me the add-on, Firestorm ... ...to me since). It was lucky that he did because the game dosn't work on my PC unless Firestorm is installed (this does mean that I cant use the cheat to keep Firestorm walls running for as long as I want).
The in-game graphics are brilliant(actually 3D now!) and the FMv is superb. While playin you have an isometric view so everything is at 30degrees. And this time, the cliffs and hills are actually raised up instead of 2D images which just about ...

First things first: if you liked the original C&C, then you will love this, although it may take a little time to get used to the new look. If you’ve never played C&C before, don’t worry, it won’t affect your playing enjoyment one bit. Here’s a rundown of the various aspects of the game:
STORY: The story takes off 20 years or so after the original C&C ‘story’ ended. It seemed like the evil head of the Brotherhood of NOD, Kane, was killed. Or was ... ...guys (GDI) trying to get rid of the bad guys (NOD), or vice-versa, since as with the original you can play as either GDI or NOD. Personally, I wasn’t going to not play the game just because the storyline was a bit unoriginal.
GAMEPLAY: The general method of playing the game is again similar to the original C&C: build bases, train troops, build vehicles and various other structures, then wipe out the other side. To add a degree of variation to the ...

Advantages: Good gameplay and added features Disadvantages: erm...
Command & Conquer is one of the original real time strategy games. It was one of the very first titles to use that style of gameplay, and has built quite a following out of sequels and add-on packs. Tiberian Sun is an all-new game, and takes place far into the future of the original C&C storyline. Two campaigns exist in the game, depending upon which side you will fight. In the GDI campaign, the game begins with the sudden reappearance of the long-thought-dead ... ...McNeil (the player's character) is quickly dispatched to secure the hostile area and put a stop to the newly-revived Brotherhood of Nod. In the Nod campaign, in-fighting between Nod forces causes a rift, and as Slavik, you will try to unite them and bring the brotherhood back to a powerful standing. The biggest change in Tiberian Sun over all of its predecessors is the graphics. The game world is truly amazing, including all sorts of special effects ...

Westwood has managed to create yet another game in this series. The player is the leader of a military unit in the battle against the brotherhood of nod (or GDI depending whom you are). In some levels you only have a small unit, in others you can build a base. When you build a base, you can build defence structures to prevent the enemy invading, build tanks and vehicles, and train soldiers.
Another game in the Command and conquer series, firestorm continues on from where C&C tiberiansun left off. The brotherhood of nod is descending in chaos after its leader Kane is missing and presumed dead. Meanwhile GDI is developing a new weapon capable of destroying the brotherhood once and for all. Throughout the game the two sides continue their long struggle for power. For many of the C&C fans, the levels are similar to some of those in ...
Advantages: Great New Units, New Missions, and Balances the Sides Disadvantages: Still Lacking realistic AI Skirmish "Quick Rushes", ie- You never see an AI do a Dis' rush with a CarryAll!
When I heard of TiberianSun, I almost jumped out of my seat in anticipation! Finally Westwood Has Come BACK with Another C&C, Game. I was then part of what is known as the BattleClans. As soon as I saw TiberianSun for £20, I immeditaly had my brother pick up a copy. When I got it, I was amazed by the way Westwood changed the viewpoint. Still in 2D, the viewpoint was now in an isometric view, giving the buildings a 3-D (3D 3D 3D 3D!) effect, despite the fact that it was 2D. After playing the missions, I decided to give the Internet play a try. In what was my first game, I was beaten terribly. What was going on? I was so good in the single player games.. Oh, of course, Westwood didn't mention the early Disruptor rush in the manual. This rush consists of a Disruptor tank being airdropped into your base via the ORCA Carry ...
