I didn't get this game until quite a while after release as I misread the minimum requirements and thought that it wouldn't work on my PC (duh!). Anyway, I later discovered my mistake and sold some old games in order to scrape together enough cash. When I went to the shop I found that the price had been raised so I had to go home and beg for some money from my mum. When I gt back, the shopkeeper for some unexplained reason gave me the add-on, Firestorm for free (can anyone explain this? It has never happened to me since). It was lucky that he did because the game dosn't work on my PC unless Firestorm is installed (this does mean that I cant use the cheat to keep Firestorm walls running for as long as I want). The in-game graphics are brilliant(actually 3D now!) and the FMv is superb. While playin you have an isometric view so everything is at 30degrees. And this time, the cliffs and hills are actually raised up instead of 2D images which just about look like cliffs.
Unfortunately ther is no map editor, but there is a random map generator with which you can alter the amounts of the variousobjects in the game- Vegetation, Tiberium lifefroms, Cliffs, Water, etc. These maps can be saved and used in skirmishes and multi-player games.
Most of the units and structures in the game are advancements of the ones in the original C&C e.g: As well as stealth tanks there are stealth generators with which to cloak your base, missiles have changed from nukes to Multi missiles or Chemical missiles etc.
There are a number of new units for both sides whuch include walkers for the GDI side which include light mechs-Wolverines, medium mechs-Titans and a the Mammoth MkII-A four legged colossus with twin rail guns and AA misslies. And for nod ther is: The mobile repair vehicle-can repair units in the field, the Banshee- A captured alien fighter ship with plasma launchers, the cyborg commando-A robot/mutant with a plasma gun and the ability to heal in tiberium.
As in all the previous agmes there are two campaigns, one for NOD and one for GDI. The missions get progressively harder throughout the campaign and the storyline focuses mainly on the origins of tiberium.
As well as single player missions, you can play a skirmish against up to seven computer players, or an internet game with up to seven friends or computer players. You can also ally with your friends against other friends or computer players. But you can't ally with computer players(I assume this is due to the problems in Red Alert, where the allied computer player will flood your base with it's units and give you no chance of survial if you break the alliance.
This is a great game for the multi-player alone and if you like the rest of the series your bound to love this.
If you like this, why not try-C&C,C&C:Red Alert,C&C:Red Alert 2.

good op, I don't have the Firestorm prob tho (since I don't own Firestorm) so the game works fine. Keep the ops coming!

Advantages: Excellent, addictive gameplay, exciting storylines, entertaining videos and cut scenes, brilliant array of units!!! Disadvantages: Too one sided NOD have a huge advantage over GDI, and you cannot save the video cut scenes which is frustrating!
Advantages: Great New Units, New Missions, and Balances the Sides Disadvantages: Still Lacking realistic AI Skirmish "Quick Rushes", ie- You never see an AI do a Dis' rush with a CarryAll!
