Cafe competition...a reward at last

Advantages: Sociability, writing, creativity
Disadvantages: lack of rewards and recognition

I challenge you to stop writing challenge ops

Advantages: The A-Z ops were fantastic fun
Disadvantages: 'I wasn't going to write this but...', 'I know, I know, another challenge but...', 'I'm bored today so...' etc etc

...things going on amongst the community at the time, these ops gave us a reason to smile, and made us feel like we had made lots of new friends here on Ciao. We also learned loads about the friends we already had. My A-Z op is the longest op I’ve ever written, and like lots of others, I’m really proud of it. Community points well earned! I enjoyed reading everybody else’s A-Z’s so much that I put a note on my profile page to make sure I didn’t miss ...
...misunderstand me, I’m all for community challenges – as I said, I did three of them myself, albeit with ‘proper’ ones sandwiched in between – but it’s the increasing reliance on them in the place of original or inspired writing that’s putting me off reading them.
