Compacks DVD101

Advantages: VCD autoplay, full MPEG2 support, small size
Disadvantages: no display

...Bought this player for my girlfriend but she is gone and I have it now.. :) This is an impressive DVD player. I bought this online from www.time2get.com and I wasn't sure about the brand because it sounds like a cheap "sound-like" replicas but It is definitely worth of money. Small size, very comfortable buttons and easy to use basic interface. This is the first low-budget DVD player I've seen which plays my old VCDs without any problem. Lowest sound extraction is 44200 Khz and result is excellent in my very small scale home theater system. If you especially like music DVDs, this is it.. I've had a Sony DVP-NS36 player but after this one I gave it to my father and kept this Compacks. It is definitely a bargain.. I recommend this player to everyone! ...I bought the Compacks 6972DVD player and found it to be an excellent product. ADVANTAGES This small (9" x 9.5" x 1 3/4") sleek looking Silver unit, can be tucked away in to the smallest of crevises. It is easy to use and comes packed with features that you would normally have to pay a great deal for. It will play any region (0 - 9) and for the price that I paid I could not have asked for anything better. (£19.99 inc postage). It comes with a lightweight easy to use remote that has the usual features A-B, OSD, Open, Power, Prog, Audio, Subtitle, 4 speed modes (X2 - X16) Pause, Play and Title, not to mention the standard command buttons, and much more. Very easy to get started, just plug in using a standard Scart lead and bobs your uncle.... DISADVANTAGES The remote is your control, if you lose it, it would be very difficult to use... Read review

...my boyfriend and i purchased this dvd player from amazon for £17.99 when our old dvd player broke in May. i was slightly sceptical about Compacks Dvd6972 as the brand is not that well known, and because it was so cheap, i thought the quality may be compromised. But was I wrong! It was easy to set up, and is only 23cm x 24cm in size. it fitted perfectly on top of my Freeview box i have and it's design also blended in quite well with the rest of my entertainment stuff! it is a sleek, silver kind of design, so would probably match a lot of peoples existing set ups in their living room. the picture quality is superb. i dont own a HD tv yet, but on my normal old crappy tv the picture is clear and bright. the sound is great too, and it is great for playing your cd's on as well as your film dvd's. i still cannot believe that we paid less...
