This Compaq port replicator contains all the standard I/O ports found on the notebook itself, so that you can connect all your office peripherals and devices to the replicator. The replicator also has 2 USB ports as well and your notebook is ready to work with most up-to-date peripheral devices. Accessing those devices with your Armada then becomes an easy, single-plug matter of connecting the notebook to the replicator. Use this port replicator to help the notebook give you its full potential for productivity in the office as well as on the road.
Advantages: Simple, quick way of commuting between desks with a laptop Disadvantages: Takes a bit of space p on your desk, compared to simple laptop use
...This HPdockingstation is a really useful piece of equipment. For those of you who have not used one before, what ia docking does is connect to all the peripherals on your desk. So you plug it in using its adapter and you can connect a mouse, a keyboard and a printer to it using USBs. You can connect a monitor to, if you want to, which I have.
What's the point?
Well what it means on a daily basis is that you can perhaps do away with the need for a desk top as well as a laptop, or a least it will save you a bundle of time if you are used to plugging and unplugging all your peripherals every day as you pack up your laptop and take it from your desk at work to home, or something similar.

Advantages: Easy to use and very efficient. Disadvantages: None known
...Let me start off by saying that although I use my Compaq PDA (Personal Data Assistant - a hand held computer) on a daily basis, I do not understand the technology behind it and do not want to have to understand it.
The purpose of the cradle is to provide an interface between the PDA and my computer. It provided an easy way to recharge the PDA battery and also allows programs to be shared/swapped and updated between the two devices.
The PDA is a tool and it has to do a job for me, with a minimum of technical know-how on my part. That is what I love about the docking cradle. I was able to set it up with great ease - for once the instructions seemed to tell me everything that I needed to know - and that was not much. Now whenever I am working at my main computer, I just slot the PDA into the docking cradle, (I do not even have...

Advantages: Reassuring build, bright colourful screen, Fast processor Disadvantages: Heavy, not uited for left handers, only provided with one styli
...to use with the thumb).
The Screen colours are rich and the screen is bright enough to use anywhere without being detrimental to battery life. Although the purchase of an optional HP screen protector is advised as the screen is prone to scratching after long periods of sustained use.
The USB/Serial baseddocking cradle is both quick and easy to install and use and the activesync software is reasonably maleable to your needs.
Battery life on the Jornada is great, I recently got a 64Mb Compact flash card so the device is now an mp3 player. It is used all day long as a PDA as an e-book and music player while commuting and still at the end of the day there is a couple of hours battery life left....

Well, you either use a mac or you don't. However if you do, it's a slippery slope into buying loads of things for your mac. There's all sorts of things you can buy, some which are trivial little things, some which aren't.
