Reliability
I have been involved in the acquisition of over 60 of these in the last 12 months and not 1 has failed in any shaper or form!
Memory/capacity
More than ... ...storage facilities are concerned say on a network or external back up solution is available, otherwise look at the 500 series which has a larger hard drive. ram is sufficient but easily and cheaply upgradeable.

Manufacturer Support
In my opinion the best in the business, prompt telephone support at local call rates, 3 years parts and first year with a next day engineer on site if required, this is more than adequate because in my opinion if a P.C. is going to fail it is more likely to be in the first 12 months unless it is the hard drive, in which case it is easy to replace on a parts basis.
Instruction Manual
Basically not needed as with XP everything is pretty much plug and play and there is adequate online support.
Ease of Use
Comfortable keyboard with single adjustment legs, easy to access intelligent on/off button, could do with USB slots on the front which I understand has been addressed in later models.
Value for Money
It certainly is considering branding and reliability.
In summary I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a good stable product with first class back up and support from a manufacturer who is unlikely to go bust and disappear overnight!
The Compaq Evo D300v is a future proof PC for any bigginer or an ideal gift for a relative seeking his/her first/second PC.
Its quite fast and is able to perform many tasks in a respectable amount of time. The 20GB Hard Disk isn't big but it's plenty of space if you just need a PC for general use, e.g. surfing the net and writing letters.
It's not a paritcaully powerfull PC and only comes with basic sound and graphics capabilities, but this is ... ...big advantages is, its compact, if you don't wan't it to dominate your desk then I surpose it's the PC for you!
As a Compaq PC you can expect high build qaulity and a PC that will last you, but you can often find better bargians with other companies. ...

Try to find a good PC with workable characteristics. I know it's hard to find the best variant in the wide range of complectations for PC. Well let me tell you that sometimes is better to get a complete PC from one of the best companies in the world. It's a little more expensive than to buy it by parts and get them together by yourself but you know for sure that it's made by specialists who made all the adjustments just for you. Evo D300 goes with ... ...is enough RAM for this processor to provide a good and fast work without any troubles. Hard drive could be larger but it's not to bad if you clean your drive regulary. And ofcourse there are a floppy drive and CD-rom which you may choose. Also you may choose the operational system you like Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional SP2 / XP Professional. I prefer XP Professional as a well-structured and easy in use. Make your step in technology evolution! ...
