After comparing the price and configuration of IBM and Fujitsu laptops, I decided that to buy Evo N800v. I never regret buying it. In fact, I fall in love with the laptop and use it almost every hour every day.
Evo N800v has good battery life. The battery could last about 3.5 hours which I was really really surprised. It does not take long to charge. The weight saver is great. It cuts down the weight of the laptop when I carry it.
Those who want to use Evo N800v, I would recommend that XP Professional be install. It is great for especially when I connect it to an external server and work from home. The system is sensitve and it supports Netgear wireless very well. I am able to serve the net anytime and anywhere in my apartment wirless. Despite using the laptop for a long time, it does not get heated up quickly. One of the reason was because it is using Intel M chip. That is the great thing of this laptop. Based on its configuration, this laptop could last about two years before any upgrading required. It is suited for those who are doing small business and would want to fully utilize the laptop and yet save pennies!!
People might be put off by the design of the mouse and its position. Whoever who design Evo N800v, definitely has good ergonomics sense. When you type and need to use the mouse at the same time, you feel really comfortable and at place. However, those who have been using Mac laptop would think othewise.
As I got this laptop from Singapore, the price is relatively cheap. I got it for 900 pounds and that includes a firewire card, a laptop bag, a year international warranty that could be extended to three years depending on where I am residing. It is difficult to get the price that I am having. Have checked around in London but few are selling Evo N800v and if they do, the price is more than 1000 pounds.
Forget about the design and the weight!! Evo N800v is the one that you are looking for.

...I ended up with the Compaq Evo N800. What a break that turned out to be.
First things first - the screen is superb with top laptop resolution rather than the crappy max of 1280xnothing offered by most other models out there even today. 1400 x 1050 gives too small a font some might say. Load of rubbish. This screen has the best viewability I've ever witnessed by which I mean that it's easily readable from any angle in front of the screen. No, it's ... ...Battery time is a solid 2-3 hours depending on activity and even after 4 years of the same battery it's still the same.
Layout of ports etc is pretty standard and the only thing to say here is that there is nothing in a stupid place (USB ports are around the back where they should be and not on the side where your sticks etc get in the way of your mouse).
Typical 3kg weight makes this portable and with all the connectivity options I've given presentations ...

Advantages: Fantastic build quality, good battery life. Disadvantages: No Floppy drive as standard, not the fastest machine.

Bought a laptop just like this two months ago and cant get enough. I paid #929 for mine and didnt think that was too bad, there are machines out there with less spec that cost more. The touch mouse pad is pretty much like any other laptop but this does however, appear to be more sensitive than most. Its positioned well for me, but my partner catches it with his thumbs, he thinks its too close to the keys. It has a clear screen and the keys are nicely ... ...more slimmer laptops that I am sure are easier to carry around. Possibly the biggest downfall is the time it takes to shutdown once you've asked it to. You can be waiting for it for about a minute sometimes (which compared to other models, it a long time!).
