Simply attach the optional Mobile 3500 Expansion Unit and transform the Armada 3500 into a flexible, full-function notebook with MultiBay support. The MEU features a fixed 24X Max CD-ROM or DVD, and the flexibility of a MultiBay for support for an optional 2nd hard drive, diskette drive (standard with notebook), optional SuperDisk LS-120 or an optional Iomega ZIP Drive, as well as an integrated AC Adapter.
Advantages: Light weight tiny Laptop Disadvantages: As it 2 or 3 years old a bit slow
...We bought the Compaq Armada M300 as a Christmas present for our 13 year old daughter, mainly for 2 reasons, to run Microsoft Encarta to enable her to do her HOMEWORK! And to run the Sims, she’d been asking for this for about 2 years and we were loathed to load it on the family’s computer for fear that nobody else would get a look in!
The Computer, we found on E-Bay for £145 plus £18 postage, we were not particularly looking for a Compaq, but rather any Laptop that had a processor that met the Sims minimum requirement ( that being PII 300).
The Compaq far surpassed that! And so we went ahead and made the purchase via Paypal on Sunday night and much to our delight it arrive at 7.30am on Tuesday morning.
The only problem, now was that the standard Compaq Armada comes without any external Drives and so we set about finding a CD...

Advantages: Beautiful large screen, fast processor, Radeon 9200 Graphics Chip, Nice Loud Speakers, wonderful keyboard, USB 2.0 for faster transfer, large Harddisk, Touchpad Off switch, WiFi, SD card reader. Disadvantages: Battery Life. Power cord placement, Only one pc card slot, Unavailability of bluetooth internal chip.
...I have owned this computer for around 4 months and have had no major problems with it as yet. The screen is wonderful. I primarily wanted a laptop to allow photographic manipulation "on the road" The large screen is a plus when it comes to any sort of creative editing, from web design and graphics, to viewing large spreadsheets and word processed files.
For a laptop computer with such a screen, the X1000 remains portable due to it's fairly lightweight shell and thinness. It certainly lives up to it's moniker "slim and light."
As far as expansion goes, the X1000 is very well equipped; the 3x USB 2.0 ports and mini firewire, mean sending huge amounts of data to my 40 gig video jukebox and 60 gig external drive is quick and easy. The simgle PC card slot is less limiting than one might first imagine, as the PC is already equiped...

Advantages: fast, simple, easy, good price Disadvantages: none so far
...A floppy disk has been standard on a PC for years. It was a fast, easy and efficient way of transferring and storing data. The 1.44mb capacity meant you could save those important MS Word documents to disk, so that you couldn’t lose them. Now what happened to the floppy disk? Maybe it was reliability? The life span of a disk? The size? Well consider this, as PC’s have moved on so far, a floppy disk basically cannot cope. They only store 1 and a half MB, which to the average PC user, is about 0.0075 percent of their entire computer’s Hard Drive. What I am trying to say there is literally not enough room for all your work. Imagine bringing home those holiday snapshots, to show your family on a disk, well the chances are that only about 7 or 8 of them will fit on the disk.
But obviously there is the technology of CD...

This is a great product, however I would not recommend it if you frequently use your laptop whilst travelling. I would however recommend this laptop to those who have laptops at home. This is a great way to store your laptop. I found it easy to attach more
Its not often that a mid season replacement makes such an impact, nor is it often that I buy a DVD boxset from watching 1 episode. I'm not big into TV shows about the military either, yet I'm hooked.
