First off, allow me to share my completely biased view as I say that this netbook is the best piece of technology that I have ever owned!

Within this plastic shell are more capabilities than my desktop PC and all within a tiny machine that can be taken anywhere with me.
Now, after my outburst of glee for my new gadget, let me deal with this objectively.

-Pros
A netbook in general is a great idea for someone who moves around a lot and likes to complete work, browse the internet or even play games during their commute. My compaq mini was bought for me as an 18th birthday gift as I had been complaining about the lack of computers at my college and I have to say, as a consumer who has had their fair share of experiences with computers, I have been thoroughly impressed from the word 'go' as it has more than catered for my needs that have ranged from simple word-processing to running multiple processes at once such as multi-tabbed internet browsers, music players and a variety of other demanding programmes that would have choked my PC.

For this particular machine's technical numbers you will have to refer to the above tab, however I can tell you that you should not be disappointed by the Intel AtomTM processor nor it's 1-2GB of RAM. Furthermore, I was astonished to discover that wizards at HP have managed to cram over 160GB of Hard Drive memory into this notebook... that's over double the amount of my desktop PC!
In addition, it also contains an inbuilt camera that I have used on-line with ease on more than one occasion and, although I have yet to use it, the 5 in 1 card reader is something I have never seen before and is definitely a convenient way of saving space.

Finally, I feel the wireless LAN adapter is worth a mention. Again in comparison to my old 'sewing machine' of a PC the wireless internet runs at 135mbps as opposed to 54mbps. Now, I'm not just saying that to quote some numbers and sound impressive, I actually checked this after noticing a much faster connection and download speed. This certainly will not disappoint!

-Cons
However, I have to say not everything is perfect about this Netbook. Relative to other Netbooks in different series the battery life leaves something to be desired with only 2-3 hours. However, this has never been too much of a problem for me, it has always, so far, lasted for as long as I have needed it and it charges pretty quickly if left alone and alas, this is what you get if you end up paying that little bit less for something.
Moreover, the speakers on this machine are not overly impressive. However, this seems to have become better with use and, personally, I don't think is enough reason to avoid a purchase. I don't know how to explain properly the quality of the sound but I'm going to go with 'hissy'... at least it was at first and i all else fails you can always plug in some other speakers/headphones into the easily accessible port.

If you're looking for an affordable machine (at only £200) that, frankly, looks good and is capable of so much for such a small thing this would definitely be a superb choice.
