When looking for a PC I knew that it had to have a high specification to be able to keep up with the fast moving market. When finding a Compaq with such good specification and not a huge price tag I was highly surprised. Its well known that Compaq are one of the best computer manufacturers in the world, and its good to know that you are buying something that is reliable.
I managed to pick up my Compaq Presario in the PC world sale. I paid £1150 for it and managed to save £300. Its got a 900mhz processor and the pc makes full use of it. It make suse of the 64mb of RAM, this much RAM isn't excellent but it is satisfactorty and is upgradable. I was very pleased that it came with a DVD player and a CD ReWriter. This is excellent as copying CD's is very useful, and is very easy to do as the software is pre-loaded and guides you through the whole process. It also allows for music from napster to be written to CD's, if you are a music lover then this is a must. The large 17inch moniter is very clear and make sit easier on your eyes in long sessions.
The software package was also very good. It was not on offer from PC world but from Compaq itself. The choice that they gave you was great. They allowed you a certain number of points and there were some good titles up for grabs. The best thing about this was that you were not restricted to what you had to have. PC world did not offer any more hardware such as a printer or a scanner but if you already have these then it isn't a problem, these days the scanner and printer that they offer are not that good anyway so it is probably better that you buy them separatly if you want high qaulity.
For the gamers this is a good pc as it does have a fast processor, but unfortuneatly it only has a 8mb graffics card, this is satisfactory but if it can't cope it is possible to upgrade without too much cost.

This is much better than your Gladiator review, with a lot more useful detail. It's bordering on "very helpful" territory in my book, but again the iffy spelling lets it down.
Advantages: Too many to mention, lots of nice features, big monitor pre installed software Disadvantages: Can't honestly think of any, perhaps the built in microphone will require updated to a close talk mic
