This is a good laptop that I purchased from Tesco for £299.00, so far it has proved to be a good machine and I am certainly very happy with it. It's easy to set up - just turn it on and follow the on screen instructions. It does take about half an hour though before its set up and ready to use.
I have found the laptop to be fairly fast, its great for internet browsing and youtube, I have also loaded a couple of games onto it and they run nicely, although its worth noting that this isn't really a gaming laptop! I mostly enjoy it for the internet, it is reliable and allows me to do word processing too.
For the same price I could have purchased a fairly good netbook, however, I chose to go for this as it came with the Windows Vista operating System (most netbooks come with XP) and it was slightly better when it came to specifications.
The laptop looks good and it appears to be quite sturdy the only problem with it is that it's not a light laptop, so its not as good when it comes to transporting it around which was a little bit of a dissapointment.
I like the silver and black colours, and so far it appears to be pretty scratch proof which is always an important feature!
The software on it is good, although I wish that it didn't come with a Microsoft office free trial, if I want a free trial then I'll download it from the microsoft website. Also their are lots of updates that windows installs during the first few days of you using the laptop which is a bit of an inconvenience.
The battery life is ok for my needs, at about 2-2 and a half hours, however for some this wouldn't be long enough and I imagine if you want to do work on a long train journey it might prove to be a little difficult.
The laptop is quiet when it is being used and it comes with a built in webcam, which is good, although when I use the Cyberlink Youcam program that came with the laptop to use the webcam I found it to be slow, with a 1-2 second delay, which is irritating. The laptop comes with a 5-in-1 card reader which I find to be really useful as you can insert an SD card into it and then have some extra storage!
Considering the price I think this is a good laptop and would recommend it, however, if you are looking for a light laptop, with a long battery life you are probably best off going for a netbook.
