Advantages great screen size, quick, reliable

Disadvantages mouse pad tricky on occasions, no wi-fi

I really like my Compaq laptop. I've had it for few months now and have found it really reliable. I love the widescreen and have managed to build a website without any added kit like keyboard, or screen.

The mousepad can be a bit temporamental at times, but generally it is very good. It did not come with built in wi-fi, so I added a card, and it works with my wi-fi network fine - connection is quick and has yet to fail.

I also like the built in 5-in-1 memory card reader which helps with downloading pics from my digital camera. I've also connected via USB to my Ipaq without any problems at all.

The battery life is good and recharging is quick.

All in all, a good buy and the AMD 64 Athlon processor means it'll be OK for a 64 bit version of Windows, if it ever happens!

Further to feedback received from some of you, I'm adding some additional information:

• memory card reader: SD, MS/Pro, MMC, SM
• three-hour battery
• Operating system Windows XP Home

I connect to the internet via a wireless card and broadband router, which works fine - I've had no problems at all with the connection and the speed is very good.

    Welcome to ciao, a good review, do you find the pointing device easier than a mouse. I've tried 1 or 2 and found them a bit stressful.
