I have been very pleased with my Compaq Prosignia. It's about 18 months old now and after adding more memory and a Modem I find it very useful for my needs. Ok its not the fastest of machines I nearly have time to make a cup of tea while the machine boots up but its been reliable and that to me is more important. I bought it after coming across compaq machines through work, i thought that if it was suitable for office use then it would be fine for home. This has proven to be the case, however I think next time I will buy just the components and make up my own machine which I am sure will be cheaper in the long run. I will pass this one down to my teenage daughter who finds it very useful for her school work. As for the manufacturer's support I am pleased to announce I have never had the need to call upon them, surely this alone speaks for itself.
