...This is another package from Hewlett Packard which at the time when bought out was reasonable priced. Nowadays you can pickup a package like this between £100 and £250 depending on any upgrades. Usually the processor is around 600mhz and can be upgraded to around 1000mhz. The only problem with this machine is of the L2 cache installed on the main board. The more L2 cache the quicker and easier the processor can handle information. The maximum memory my machine could take was 512mb but not sure on the higher spec machines. My machine came with a scrolling mouse which many machines didn't have. All machines that i knew of came with Windows 98 but this can be wiped and Windows 2000 or even XP can easily be installed with 128mb memory. My PC came installed with Windows 98 and a few other programs installed, these other programs were...

Advantages: Well designed, good quality case and screen Disadvantages: Its not a TFT
...I received a Compaq 7500 monitor with my old Compaq PC about 3 years ago in 2002.
INFO
The 7500 is a 17" CRT screen made by Compaq but made in China.
I don't think Compaq sell these any more but I have seen them on EBAY for about £35 and as little as £16.
DETAILS AND DESIGN
The monitor is all black in design with a silver frame surrounding the screen and the controls. Well really it's not silver but more like a brushed aluminium effect.
This is a standard 17" Compaq monitor with I think a 16" viewable area.
It's shape and design are far better than a lot of newer monitors on the market today. The main back section of the monitor is not that big so you can easily fit the monitor on to the smaller sized office desks you get for home PC's. Rough sizes are 43 cm (H) x 41 cm (W) X 45 cm (D)
I like this monitor for both...

Advantages: Looks great with hp PC's, Inbuilt Mic, good menu Disadvantages: As with all 17" CRT's very deep
.... Those "clunky bits" are sort of faded partially see throughable (yup great way to explain it I know). They're just original okay, no other way to describe them, I like it and so should you! grrr! Although not looked at very often even the stand has had some designing. No more do we have to endure flat and intimidating stands, rather a more airy and modern approach has been taken. If you're ever bored you can even look right under it. It's actually quite surprising the 4 prongs can hold the weight of the monitor, it's not light
*****SIZE*****
As with all of the CRT monitors that are at 17" this one is very deep. This is probably its only drawback. It's also not all that light. Don’t get me wrong it's not the weight of a jumbo jet, it's just a bit heavy if you're not used to moving around office equipment etc.
