This is a great handheldpocket PC and what's more, you can carry it around with you wherever you go. Just think of all of the things you can do with a compact computer at the palm of your hands. Write documents and notes when you need to, particularly great when organising your life to put it simpler. I mean, it's far better then a diary because if you're anything like me, you probably end up misplacing your diary and I wouldn't dare think of losing my pocket PC. You can easily access the internet from wherever you are, if you need to look up tube/train times at last minute, you can. If you perhaps want to just research something at a particular moment for example in a pub quiz - I'm not saying you should cheat at pub quizzes or anything - well they're easy anyway. But what's more, you can check your email regularly without having the hassle of turning on your home computer when you've got this simple handheld PC at your fingertips. If your cooking dinner and want to access the web, in the car and waiting for an urgent email, or whether that's typing up your homework for all you teens out there. Want to watch movies and listen to music? Well you can do that too! Just think of all the things that this awesome gadget could replace: no need to carry a diary, a pen or notebook, no need for an MP3 player or iPod, and no need to carry a laptop around with you everywhere, if you do. And how could I possibly forget, something virtually everybody uses, possibly even my Gran: MSN messenger - already comes bundled up with the rest of the software supplied with this cool pocket PC.

THE DESIGN
Weighing 185 grams it's hardly heavy at all - I mean I've had digital camera weigh more than that. It's so handy to have and almost no trouble at all to carry around with you day after day- whether that's in your brief case, purse or pocket. This handheld PC has a silver case and a dark plastic bulge at the top of the screen that houses the speaker and the SD card slot which is the Secure Digital card slot. One of its best features in my opinion has to be the transflective screen which basically means that it has a
back light for use indoors and outdoors. The screen in fact measures out to be 2.26 inches by 3.02 inches which is quite big but more of a sensible size and is small enough to fit in your pocket still. The LCD screen is much brighter and has more contrast in my opinion, and has a great vivid and vibrant colour range than other previous models and in fact models of competitor companies such as Toshiba.
HP have certainly created a great design for this device and it is a similar shape to the previous models of the iPAQs, therefore the existing sleeves and accessories available are also suited perfectly for this pocket PC as well as all the others. So buying this pocket PC may be simply an upgrade to your previous, so make sure you don't throw away any accessories you may have if you are going to buy this.
This pocket PC comes with a fairly compact adapter and another advantage of this is that you are able to charge your iPAQ whilst on the road by simply attaching a small dongle to the end of the power chord.

The XScale processor is amazing as it is really quite fast for a pocket PC, especially because most other iPAQs have a processor speed of 206 MHz which is almost half the speed of this H3950. And above, for those new users out there, RAM is more to do with the temporary memory of the PC: how many programs and applications it can deal with at once and so on.

As previously mentioned, I don't think weight is an issue at all really because 184 grams is hardly anything at all. The dimensions of this PC make it suitable for almost any pocket, especially those suit jacket pockets. And 1.5cm thickness is incredibly thin- I think this iPAQ must have had some sort of influence from the iPod nano with its incredibly thin body. The screen is awesome and big enough, as well as convenient being transflective as explained previously with its backlight feature.

Easily connects to your computer or laptop or almost any other device. And its great Infra Red, which is also found on a lot of laptops, and can also be bought as a USB adaptor, makes transferring files to and from this pocket PC so much easier and manageable.

The microphone in my opinion is great for recording notes and reminders in my opinion and things you have left to do - almost like a "to do list" but not written down. The speaker simply does what any other speaker does and that is play sounds, whether that's game sounds, songs, or playback of your recorded voice. Maybe you want to send voice clips via the internet- almost like a proper live conversation. Its battery life is great - no doubt that it will easily last you a full day as it does me.

These set of applications are fantastic. You just have to agree, you would never think you could get so much onto a pocket PC. I was amazed before I bought this one - well it was given to me which is the advantage because the disadvantage about this pocket PC is that it is on the market for quite a lot, yet, makes you want to buy it because of all its features.
Well I think I've said quite enough about the features in the specification above but let me just outline a few points which you should really remember if you are considering buying this Pocket PC:
Remember that it has an astounding 400MHz processor along with 64MB of RAM and 32MB of ROM (Read only memory). In my personal experience, the faster speed gives better playback of videos and applications run much better than other Pocket PCs I've tried using. There is a SD/MMC cardexpansion slot however; there is no Compact Flash slot is available which a disadvantage. The applications are great and one in particular, Nevo, appears to be quite useful because you can change your Pocket PC to be a remote control for your home entertainment system because of its infra red connectivity.
The transflective screen is by far one of the best features capable of displaying 65,536 colours at a 320 by 240 pixel resolution. The colours are so much vivid and deeper and more life-like than other handhelds I've seen.
It's a great Pocket PC this one but it ahs too be said that the main disadvantage is that it is overpriced. The lowest I've seen this priced at is £249.99 and that is from Amazon. This is probably a big issue but I still highly recommend it although maybe you want a cheaper Pocket PC but remember you may not get the same standard of quality.
