Adi's Complete Learning Packs are more than just a revision tool for children, they are a whole world of communication, discovery, learning and fun! Designed with the assistance of teachers, Adi delivers comprehensive coverage of the Maths and English UK National Curriculum. In Adi's room he has stored lots of exciting things for your child to help them with their homework - multimedia fact files, interactive simulations and quizzes on a wide range of general topics as well as a games machine which your child has to earn points to use by completing subject exercises. When it's time to learn, Adi flies your child off to the Space Stations. Each Space Station is specifically designed to cater for the needs of your child's learning. Choose from either a guided tour, where Adi will decide on the order of the exercises and lessons, or let your child decide their own path. The exercises are broken down into stages. Firstly, Adi assesses your child's current understanding of a subject, then they move on to the interactive multimedia lessons where they can read about the subject, view examples and the methodology, and obtain an understanding of all the key definitions. Then it's time to put their new knowledge into practise as they progress through the "practise what you've learnt" exercises. Once they are confident with the subject area they can progress to the "extend your knowledge" exercises to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the subject. You and your child can track the progress made in all the subjects against a list of curriculum-based skills from either the Parents' Corner or within the Resource Capsule of the Space Stations.

...WOW - Novell have just made this great package absolutely free. You can get it at http://www.ramms.co.uk/novell.htm perfectly legally.
The free version offers 5 concurrent user & 2 server licences. There is an expansion pack, which adds a further 5 concurrent users and enables more user licences to be added, but adding this is still cheaper than a standard 10 user licence.
Let me explain that this is a comprehensive suite of small business tools designed to assist communication and provide network computer users with easy access to centrally resourced, computer network based, applicaations, tools and information, both locally and/or via the Internet.
It is not something that the average home user would normally be interested in, but if you run a small business, and need to store information, share networked resources...

Advantages: Easy to install and use and very reliable. Disadvantages: None that I've found.
...About six years ago when I first started working with my PC, I was well aware of the importance of making back-ups of all my files. This I had learned to my expense from my old Commodore Amiga days when I lost everything due to a damaged hard drive. And that was only 200 megs! Now I had 40 gigabytes of hard drive on the PC I had purchased, but it had a CD Re-writer fitted so that would make it easier to back-up my work.
Looking at the recordable CD disks, I thought the best option would be to buy, the CD re-writes (CD-RW) as they could be recorded to over and over again and even wiped completely if I wanted.
You can imagine my shock when I ended up throwing most of the disks in the bin because, according to my computer (running windows Me at the time), they had failed to format properly and after what seemed like waiting an age...

...WOW is all I can say, after being advised by an expert about which is the best software to use for antivirus protection I always got directed to Norton. I first used norton antivirus 2004 and this was great, it found all viruses that even I was surprised I had on my PC and offered free updates for a whole year. So come the new year I wanted better and I got it with Norton AntiVirus 2005 11.0 and this is even better. I recently found 527 viruses on my PC thanks to Norton.
Features:
This package comes with again the free updates until 2006,
It will autoprotect your PC, kind of like a 24hour personal guard service,
It comes with internet worm protection,
Email scanning so now you can feel alot safer if you recieve a virus infected e-mail,
The ability to do a full system scan or just scan selected files,
Automatically...
