Returns Service A Dream..Peace of Mind!

Advantages: Price, Delivery, On-line customer service facility
Disadvantages: Could Communicate their actions better-Need to check fragile items

Panasonic Plasma TV arrived, I signed for it, opened the box and yes...the screen was smashed. Started to fret - should I have examined the TV before letting the courier (UPS) go? Would they blame me? I started to get angry, expecting the worse. Dabs were great, UPS were even better. Refund about ten days later (I used a credit card-if you can always used a credit card for the extra protection they provide). This is only the second time I’ve returned ...
...loyal customer. Can't say any more, really. Thought I'd post my experience. Thanks DABS & Chris (female) at Manchester Depot UPS. If UPS were based in Liverpool there’s a 1 to 4 chance of me liking them even more!(heh-heh!) PS- I eventually bought a full HD 42” Pana Plasma at PC World in Speke Liverpool for £799. Sweet. ...

Top notch when it comes to components!

Advantages: Great Customer Support, INCREDIBLE Pricing, Extremely quick shipping, Great Products!
Disadvantages: 'SOME' products are slightly higher priced than at other places. But thats the keyword, 'SOME'

I've been using eBuyer since the middle of 2007, i bought my first components to build my computer from there. The prices were great, and as it was a large order, the next day delivery cost seemed relatively low at £14.99. I'll admit, a few years back their sales and support was pitiful, the staff seemed somewhat miserable, and a reply on their 'enote' system took about a week for a reply. However since then, regardless of what others are saying. ...
...the 'extra value' range which eBuyer do. Costed me £2 each and the quality was phenomenal! Overall, I always have, always will, and always do use eBuyer for my technology purchases, unless I'm purchasing say a mac, then i'll buy it direct from Apple, but how often does that happen? For me its happened once in my life, and everything else has always been eBuyer eBuyer eBuyer eBuyer eBuyer eBuyer eBuyer! Top Notch Lads! ...

Comet - Not good if something goes wrong

Advantages: You can take the item away with you when you buy, they price match local retailers
Disadvantages: returning faulty items is very difficult, very contradictory head office phone advise

I bought a tv from Comet a couple of weeks ago, and left it in its packaging for a couple of days, whilst I was selling my previous tv. After I'd set up the new tv, all seemed fine, until I started to get an intermitant flickering picture with HDMI sources. I first went into Comet to ask what the prodedure for returning it was, and was told that either an engineer could come to my house and test it, or that I could return the tv to the store, where ...
...be faulty, the tv would be written off, and a replacement or refund could be issued. I took the tv back to the store (18 miles away from where I live), and was then told by a lady at the customer service desk that they would have to get an engineer out to the store, and that the soonest he/she would be able to come was 4 days later. I asked to speak to the manager, and he very smugly recited the company's policy on returning tvs. I agreed to have ...

Pathetic

Advantages: NONE
Disadvantages: TOO MANY TO MENTION

This company should be banned from trading in the UK. I had nothing but grief with them after buying a phone that broke while under warranty. They tried to accuse me of damaging the phone myself, then they made me wait over 2 weeks for a repair. I was told on the phone that I could get a replacement handset but I was not actually even offered a courtesy phone! They did not ring me to let me know when the phone was available to collect from the store ...
...their stores. All I was met with was obstruction and officiousness . Also they were rude and obstructive to my wife when she visited the store to ask about my phone repair taking so long. AVOID THIS OUTLET unless you enjoy wasting hours on the phone trying to get even a bare minimum of customer service. ...
