I started out buying just the standard Clearblue Pregnancy Test. I brought this one initially as it was cheaper than some of the others (£10 for 2 test sticks). Anyway I was 7 days late but suspected before this that I may be pregnant but wasn't too sure how long you are supposed to wait before you can do the test. When I read the box I found out I could of actually done the test on the first day my period was due, so I didn't actually need to wait this long at all.
I had never taken a pregnancy test before but was very pleased to find that there were very clear instructions on the reverse of the packaging. The clear instructions were in 3 steps. Inside the packaging was a questionnaire, a more detailed description on how to use the test and 2 of the testers. The testers are individually wrapped and easy to open.

Finding out I was pregnant for the first time was a bit of a shock, I had no idea what to expect and while my mother tried to provide advice I thought it would be helpful to doing some reading up on what to expect over the 9 months that were to follow. On my trip to Waterstones one book stood out from the acres of other pregnancy manuals and it was Dr Miriam Stoppards New Pregnancy & Birth book, I don't know what it was about the book that drew me to it, perhaps it was the gaze of the baby on the front cover, whatever the reason I returned home with my very own copy.
