...techno remix of the latest U2 single saw the entire band doing a lap of the outer stage, including Larry, who temporarily abandoned his drum kit in favour of a djemba allowing us all to get a glimpse of the reclusive drummer. 5. Walk On Written in tribute to Aung San Suu Kyi, the imprisoned Burmese activist, Walk On was dedicated to said lady and the crowd were urged to put on masks of her face (which we had been issued with upon entry) as ......government. U2 were joined on stage by a number of "volunteers" also wearing the mask. Seeing thousands of people in masks was kind of spooky... 6. Mysterious Ways One of my favourite U2 tracks and one they chose not to play last time I saw them in 2005. Included as a highlight just because I love the tune! 7. Ultraviolet Bono emerged onto the stage for the encore wearing a suit fitted with red lasers which sparked all across the ... Read review
Advantages: The show of a lifetime! Disadvantages: Long queues to get out of the building to the station. Drinks expensive in the stadium.
...was lucky enough to see Take That at Wembley stadium. This is my third time of seeing 'the boys' but it was definitely the best show I have ever seen them perform. At Earls Court many years ago and at the O2 for their comeback tour they were brilliant, but this tour is absolutely out of this world. Even the most anti Take That person (if they exist!) could not fail to be wowed by this dazzling circus show complete with trapeze artists, high wire ......when she tours herself. Take That look better than ever; fitter and happier than ever before and they are all so handsome I wouldn't know who to choose first - although I suspect Gary might just pip the others at the post if he asked me nicely :-). I defy anyone to say it wasn't a fantastic show and would recommend it to everybody. No wonder the media are calling it 'the best concert of all time' - it truly was. ... Read review

...my boyfriend to go see Will Young at the Sheffield Hallam FM Arena on the 19th September. Who is he and why did I want to go? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will Young came about in the UK from the popular reality tv programme, Pop Idol in 2002. Week in week out people voted for their favourite singer from a group of 12 men and women. These had been whittled down from around 30'000 auditionees. From the beginning of the live ......fluster! I was a dedicated Will Fan and voted week in week out, culminating in a Will Party with my friends on the night of the live finale show. It was a close run contest with Will pipping Gareth Gates (remember him?!) to the title of Pop Idol with an astonishing 4.6 million votes cast for him. He quickly brought out his first album and single 'Evergreen' which sold 1,108,659 copies in its first week, becoming one of the UKs best selling debut ... Read review

...faces stencilled with I love Robbie make up, for £1 (party pooper) and we made our way in. We spread out our black bin liners and sank onto rock hard ground, about forty rows of people back from the stage. So far so good. Then the waiting began. Giant video screens were playing current chart stuff and some classics, so the first hour passed pleasantly. By 3.30, the venue was just about full and the half hourly surges began. This consisted of being ......'But there is only one Robbie Williams. Oh yes!!! And then there he was, just a man, and a fairly small one at that, from 50 rows back, but how he filled that stage. All our aching feet disappeared as we jumped and shouted our way through the next two and a half dilirious hours. Robbie sure can work a crowd and makes full use of the video screens, at times looking as if he is gazing directly at you (most disconcerting!!!). He looked very fit and ... Read review

Spandau Ballet Reformation Tour - Tuesday 20th October 2009 - O2 Arena What? The Reformation Tour is the first live appearances of Spandau Ballet since their acrimonious split in 1989 which ended with half the band suing the others over song-writing royalties. Although three members attempted to tour together in the 1990's, the public lost their hunger for the new romantics and each went their own seperate ways. The Reformation Tour is the ......Hailing from North London, Spandau Ballet comprise of: Tony Hadley - lead vocals Gary Kemp - guitar, keyboards and backing vocals Martin Kemp - bass guitar Steve Norman - saxophone, guitar and percussion (mainly bongos!) John Keeble - drums and backing vocals Since the heady days of their greatest success in the 80's, the Kemp brothers have added to their repertoir of skills performing in films (most notably as the infamous Kray twins) and ...
