OMG we're pregnant again! I called my hubby... "Erm, hun", I said, " well after 10 years of being careful (our daughter had just turned 10) I think our relaxed life and silent nights are going to be over..."
The phone was silent, but I could hear the the last few brown hairs on his head turning a crisp grey....Oh dear.
He came home from work with me waiting with open arms...he said "this is going to cost us a fortune" but hugged me with happiness.
Nealry nine months later....
We had listed all the items we needed and at the top was CAR SEAT.
How many car seats are there on the markets? LOADS!!!
We surfed and shopped and came accross the CONCORD TRIMAX in Mothercare. It was suitable from 8 months which was when he would stop using his baby seat.
Cost: around £90-£120 depending on the store and sales Colours: many available including Kiwi, Miami pink, aqua blue and grey / white and red.
It looked stylish (if a car seat could actually look stylish!!) and it came in a range of colours.
We decided on a lightblue with red and grey trim.
The seat comprises of 3 parts: the backrest with three-positio adjustable shoulder straps, the booster seat and the sit / recline adjustment section.
The TRIMAX seat is supplied with a harness system fixed on the back rest which easy to use.
The seat can be placed in a sitting or reclined position. To adjust it to either position, it is simply a case of clicking a button and pulling or pushing the seat. I would say it's so easy to do that even a child could do it but I am sure they are designed NOT to allow children to be able to adjust their owns seats! lol
The seat is very comfortable for my little one (now nearly 2) There is sufficient padding to keep him from knocking himself and the head rest is nice and soft too. The straps are padded also, so they do not cut in to his shoulders.
It is easy to fit the seat and it doesn't move at all once in position. My hubby and I were pushing and pulling it and it wouldn't budge....we feel that it would be a very safe option.
The seat comes with a very good handy little instruction book. The instructions are written in several languages. It also advises you on how to clean the seat which I have had to do a few times and it still looks as good as new.
Overall, we are very pleased with the seat and bought another TRIMAX for our other car. Although be got our first seat from Mothercare, knowing the product, we decided to buy on line and save a few pennies (it saved us about £30) and got it from kiddicare.com.
