Advantages: Cheap insurance Disadvantages: None as yet
I have recently taken out a mortgage on a house and therefore needed to take out lifeinsurance. Having never done this before I decided to shop around. Taking the advice of friends I asked for quotes from Norwich Union as I had been told they were reasonably cheap. Having amassed a collection of quotes I found that yes they were able to offer the cheapest service for me. That is until I read that Tesco had started offering LifeInsurance services too. Their LifeInsurance is underwritten by Norwich Union and offers a 16 per cent discount on the Norwich Union prices. So basically you get the same product but cheaper. The lowest monthly charge is 5 pounds so if you can find cheaper than that then you are doing well but I found that this was a pound or so cheaper than the other companies I contacted. ...

Just last weekend, I got a call from my sister telling me that a mutual friend had just been diagnosed with cancer. He's only 29. I told my husband about it and he looked pale. I asked him what was the matter and he confessed that he has been procrastinating about sorting out our lifeinsurance. Yes, it's scary to think about it but we are immortals and will have to go 'prepared' for our loved ones. Cancer or any other illnesses strike anyone irregardless of our age and lifestyle. It seems that the younger generation are also becoming the target lately.
Immediately, he went online and got a quote from Tesco.com . We were quite surprised because for only £23 per month (fixed for 50 years) , both of us are insured for £200,000. That's really really cheap. I found out that Tesco lifeinsurance was actually underwritten by Norwich Union ...
Insurance.co.uk. is a new comparison site which focuses only on insurance and has started our by concentrating on motor and motorbike comparison.
I've used comparison sites for some time and think this one is the best for the following reasons :
- they have a competitive panel with a good mix of major brands and smaller players
- what you see is what you get in terms of price. In my experience the prices you see on the insurance.co.uk. web site are the same as those which you get when you click through to the insurer's site. I've had really bad experiences with this at other comparison sites.
- they have invested in research amongst the customers of many of their insurers to find out how good or bad the service is, and given it a star rating. this is so important because you buy insurance for when things go wrong, but how else can ...
