game players, this sequel is still set in the original 1991 Gulf War. It's a squad-based shooter that follows the testosterone-enriched adventures of soldiers Bradley, Foley, Connors and Jones as they travel 300 km further behind enemy lines beginning with--and couldn't you just guess it--a rescue mission at a downed Black Hawk helicopter within a heavily fortified city.Of course, replicating dangerously jingoistic American movies is exactly whatConflict: Desert Storm IIis all about and there's a ton of new hardware in this sequel to get even the most steadfast pacifist reaching for the Arnie one-liners. You've got new phosphor grenades, a laser designator to call in helicopters and jet planes and, best of all, the chance to jump in a jeep and spray bad guys with heavy machine gun fire.As well as adding new featuresConflict: Desert Storm IIalso fixes problems with the original game, in particular the often highly erratic frame rate, which is a lot smoother than before. The co-op mode is also back and better than ever, especially as you can now pick any level from the single-player mode to play through at any time. --David Jenkins

The game is more of last time still being a 3rd person squad based shooter with tactics and strategy also playing a vital part.
Back in Iraqi desert you control a squad of four team-mates . Each of your team mates has a various skill. Your men are Bradley the all rounder good with all guns, Conners is in control of the heavy weaponary, Foley is skilled with the sniper rifle and Jones is skilled at close quarters and dead handy with the knife. All team members carry a main weapon like an AK-47 and various other helpful things such as grenades.
The controls are quite a handful but once mastered you'll be able to blow the enemy to oblivion. Your team members can perform all the usual, they'll follow you one at a time or all together. You can order them to fire, hold the position to or maybe you'd like to position them in a pretty pattern on the horizon. Of course you can switch player at any time depending on your mood which really makes the game something special.
The enemy AI is quite sharp proving tricky to take down and they'll call for backup if your proving to much for them, in addition to the ground forces there are also a large range of vehicles which try to destroy you tanks jeeps and helicopters to name a few. You'll have to use your head to get around, the all-guns-ablazing routine may work a couple of times but you'll find yourself running low on ammo so taking the enemy out with from afar with Foley and the sniper rifle is sometimes the better option. Your team is pretty smart following orders down to the last "hold position" though sometimes you'd wish that God had taught them the art of cowardice. They'll stand there while swarms of enemy tanks surround them. However once your RPG has taught the tanks a lesson you can revive your fallen comrades with a health pack.
The game will last you a good month as there are 14 new desert missions to attempt ranging from a RPG roaring mission taking out the tanks or a stealthy mission where you hug the shadows and pray you aren't sighted so theres somthing for everyone. The missions usually take a while to complete and there are only 3 game saves per mission so use them wisely soldier. If you find yourself unable to command your team jamming the button for hold position but they go running off try the Boot Camp tutorial missions which are great fun and the skills you learn aid your enormously in the heat of battle.
The graphics are solid providing a realistic experiance with lovely textured looking sand, beautiful explosions glorious enemy bases complete with buildings, towers the works. The insides of the buildings were sculpted with the same care and effort that went into the outside scenery. Your trusted aquaintences along with those Iraqi scum look a little sqaure sometimes but the experiance of the game is so good you'll rarely notice.
The multiplayer is brilliant with a fantastic co-op mode enabling you and a friend to attempt a mission together, this is where the gameplay really comes together as you head for the objective your friend can provide covering fire and heal you when you're hit. It really has to be experianced to be believed. It is just so good.
The sound is great too with authentic sounding machine guns and the like to suck you into the gameplay experiance furthermore, also some wonderfully orchestrated music providing the rest of a very satisfying sound track.
This game is a mix of an arcade shooter and Tom Clancys Ghost Recon, not being as hard as Ghost Recon and not as simple as an arcade shooter Conflict Desert Storm plonks itself down right in the middle providing an ideal target for all gamers. Great game !

Advantages: Tactically incredible. Takes the former one and throws it out the window Disadvantages: Not much difference between the first one and this one accept the missions
Yes, yet another one. It trust me it is dimensions better than the first one by a long shot. They have dived deeper into the world of war and how modern day special forces work under pressure and under fire- a cool sweet games that is easy to understand but incredibly difficult to master.
It is still set during the First Gulf War (The legal one!). It is set just after the Iraqi invasion of the neutral country of Kuwait and the SAS/Delta Force (Whichever ... ...disturb the enemy until allied UN forces arrive from the USA and the UK.
Enough of the same storyline as the last one lets look into the game play a bit. The controls are relatively the same with a few tweaks here and there. Nothing truly major, squad positioning has been greatly enhanced by using the circle button and then pressing various button so that the man you are sending out will either march, run, crawl, walk cautiously to their destination ...

Advantages: It's brill, and you'll know the format/controls from the first one. Disadvantages: No bonuses, no endgame sequence to speak of, too long to wait until the next one.
Yes, it’s true. No sooner had Bradley, the leader of my SAS team-of-four, escaped from his cell in an Iraqi POW camp after it was hit by a laser-guided bomb dropped from an allied stealth bomber, he managed to get stuck in a dimly lit pile of cardboard boxes behind a secluded shed. Mind you, while the standard issue for said team of four includes primary and secondary weapons (machine gun or telescopic rifle, plus handgun or shotgun for close-quarters-battle), ... ...and phosphorus), and half-a-dozen medipacks amongst others, there’s no mention of a tool to make sure you shoelaces aren't tied together, or a box navigator. Anyway, when needed, you’ll also be let loose with a laser designator to call in air strikes from gunships, LAW anti-tank hand-held missile launchers, or C4 with a remote control detonator. I’m hoping the latter might be in the shops soon, what with Guy Fawkes’ Night just around the corner. ...

...the release of the original Conflict: Desert Storm the other year, it was like music to my ears when I heard that CDSII was going to be released. They said that the minor flaws were to be fixed and that it would be a whole lot better and how right they were.

You are tasked to blow things up, infiltrate heavily defended installations and defend installations ... ...this is a squad based action game with many new additions! These new additions include rolling while lying down, phosphurus grenades, the all new flare gun and Claymore mines. The CO-OP mode its still there, adding to the replay value when you do the game with your friend.
Graphics are better, smarter, everything you expect for a sequel. The environments are nicer and more detailed, and the sun and searchlights actually have an effect on your aiming ...

Advantages: Excellent strategic game. Command your squad and live to learn by your mistakes. Disadvantages: Undetermined sights. Enemy troops tend to be a little suicidal and definately stupid
Owned Desert Storm and bought this sequel as soon as it hit the shelves. Basically the game continues where Desert Storm left off as far as the story line is concerned.
I cannot recommend this game enough. If you're an ex service man that has seen action you'll appreciate the sense of achivement that this game gives you although the buzz isn't quite the same! In command of three other specialists on missions within the deserts and urban sites within ... ...control of them physically. However sometimes its better to let them get on with it as they react to situations with the best possible form. Graphically the game ranks with M.O.H. When an RPG flies past your head it really does feel like its just flown past your head. However I found that running off to save one of my oppo's in the midst of a full on fire fight was not recommended as I tended to find that, as in reality, getting hit by an RPG seriously ...

Advantages: Nice realism... Disadvantages: A few annoying glitches...
I am playing this game with my brother at the moment, and it really is a good game. We've been playing it solid on multiplayer for about 4 days now and its true that it is very addictive!
The realism to this game is great, it tracks the iraqi invasion of kuwait well and all of the missions are detailed and similar to actual events of the first iraqi war. Between missions there are even brief paragraphs outlining your position in the conflict. A ... ...as either the Delta force ( US special forces), or the obviously better SAS! I have always chosen the SAS mainly through pride.
Whats good about this game is that the realism gives you a sense of patriotism about the whole mission, and together with the fact that orders given by your team are accompianied with the correct hand signals the army use in real life, makes the experience much better. There are so many weapons available in this game aswell, ...
