connect3d?! what a name :)

Advantages: Price, quality
Disadvantages: not much in the bundle

is buy a better heatsink (for about £15), reflash the chip and your off, with an even better card at a low price. One thing i found dissapointing about the connect3D card was the lack of any extra's offered by other companies, IE bundled games and software. However the useful addition of a converter for the TFT monitor port to a normal monitor port was a thoughful inclusion, to make life easier if you want to run this card using 2 monitors. To sum things up, my opinion is to buy this card now. Its cheap and will play any games to be released now or in the near future (with AGP 8x still not being used to its full potential by games developers). The great performance of this card makes up for lack of free software, and it overclocks a treat. ...

Review of Connect3D RADEON 9800

The Graphics Revolution: ATI Radeon 9800

Advantages: Small, practically weightless, high tech, durable, gives you KILLER graphics, perfect for games.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, uses up a lot of pc power

The ATI Radeon 9800 is amazing. But it isnt cheap. That has to be the first thing to be pointed out. You can get an acceptable laptop at such a price: 200 GBP. Unless you are REALLY into games and 3D game designing and developing, I dont reccommend you buy it. Seriously- you dont need that much power! Me...I just bought it because I'm a computer geek, and because I had quite a large budget. If you are buying a laptop or PC with this graphics card, then the price will obviously increase significantly. If you have recently bought a laptop or PC over the last year, you seriously do NOT need to buy this graphics card. Your laptop would almost certainly have a graphics card, and if its a high tech one then it will probably have ATI Radeon 9600 or 9200 with 64MB of RAM. That is enough to run the most complicated and most performance ...

Review of Connect3D RADEON 9800

Sapphire Radeon X1300 XT 512MB £££

Advantages: Quick, High Quality
Disadvantages: Loud!

This is my first up grade of a new graphics card since i got a new computer. It was easy to install just plug and play. You have to install the driver, which takes a bit of space though. The software is really good, it helps you adjust the the settings really easily and even has different interfaces for different levels of knowledge of computers. The picture is really sharp, even for the desktop menu, once you get on to the games you really know how good it is. Ive played the sims 2 (with all of the latest expansion packs), Rome: Total War and age of empires III with it, the picuture clarity is amazing and the speed is also good (for the price and for the memoy hungry games) no freezing up or the regular stutter. However, ive always had a really nice and quiet computer, but the fan of the gfx card makes it quite loud! You can ...
