Don't chuk it out the window or through the TV!
Advantages: Cheap price if you need to buy one, one comes free with the console. Disadvantages: None
The Wii Nunchuk controller is used with the Wii console, both produced by Nintendo. The Nunchuk is used by plugging it in to the bottom of the Wii Remote (see my reviews for a review on this too!), it's very simply to use and very simple in design. It is designed to be held in one hand and is suitable for use in many different games (you will be prompted by the Wii when you need to plug it in or when it's no longer required. There are three buttons ... ...these are used for playing in a variety of games from being a shooter to being a boxer. If you use this for boxing it will help you to weave and block yourself as well as help you throw punches. In a first person shooter style game you may well use the joystick for moving your character and the C & Z button to shoot your gun & aim. The design of this is fantastic, it is white to match the rest of the Wii equipment and the console itself, it's very ...

Take it to the limit
Advantages: Improves the visuals Disadvantages: Doesn't benefit smaller TV screens
Takes the Wii to the limit of its visual capacity. OK, so the Wii doesn't have the *really* hi-def visuals you would get from a PS3 or X-Box 360, but be honest here, does anyone buy a Wii for the visual experience? Admit it, the Wii is so popular because the motion sensitive control set was not only a great way of targetting non-gamers but also a genuinely innovative attitude from Nintendo, which other manufacturers are finally learning: visuals ... ...The composite cable will upgrade the visual experience of using the Wii - but only to 480p, so it won't stretch the capabilities of HD-capable TVs too far. If you have a large-ish TV (32") it will enhance the picture (and yes, it is worth doing if you can benefit from it, if your TV is smaller then you probably won't get to see much of a benefit from this product. ...

A useful replacement for the Wii sensor bar
Advantages: A relatively cheap spare sensor bar. Good for a second TV or a quick replacement. Disadvantages: The cable is still flimsy. Other sensor bars are even cheaper.
...one over the counter at GAME stores meaning that you'll lose little in terms of valuable playing time. Design wise, this is slightly different from the original sensor bar with a slightly curved shape to it. This might potentially look a bit messy if you've got a small flat panel with it perched on top, although it fits easily enough to a normal sized TV, even flat screen ones, and looks a fair bit nicer and sturdier than the official product. Alas, ... ...so long as you've got the unit installed somewhere and aren't moving it around it should be relatively safe. You might have heard tales of people replacing a broken sensor bar with candles, which does work - look for the video on Youtube - as they provide a strong signal in the infra-red, but for less than £10 this is not an expensive purchase; although you might find cheaper Wii sensor bars by shopping around, for prices as low as under £2, they're ...

An essential buy for any Wii owner.
Advantages: Better picture quality, easy to install Disadvantages: Expensive, not supported by all TVs
As I have a TV that doesn't support Component Cables, I decided to splash out on Nintendo's RGB cable to see if I could get improved visuals on my Wii.
The cable is very simple to install, as it plugs into the same slot on the Wii as the standard cables, and into the SCART socket on the back of your TV.
As soon as I loaded up my Wii I could immediately see the difference.
Everything was brighter and clearer than before - the various channel icons ... ...colourful, and everything seemed much sharper and more prominent, especially noticeable when looking at on screen text.
I realised, however, that the new visuals would be worthless if they weren't noticeable in the games, so next I decided to load up some of my games and see if they had improved too.
First of all I decided to try out Wii Sports.
I simply couldn't believe how much it had improved. The game's menu screens looked much cleaner, and ...
