Sony Playstaion 3
Review of Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) by
MattUtd
Advantages: Built-in Bluray Player, Wireless Remotes as Standard, Quiter than XBox 360.
Disadvantages: Are there any? Don't think so.
I recently sold my XBox 360 as I desprately wanted to try a PS3. Having owned the previous Playstations I was not disappointed with my purchase. I was also looking for a Bluray player which at the time cost more than the PS3. This made my purchase even more worthwhile.
My initial thoughts was that the PS3 is bigger than the XBox 360 but a lot more quiter. In fact, you barely know it's on. A bought the basic 40GB pack which I find more than sufficient. ... ...XBox 360 include:
* Free Wireless Controllers as standard
* Bluray Player Built-in. Cheaper than buying a stand alone player
* Free online gaming compared to Microsoft's monthly/annual subscriptions
* Built-in Hard-Drive
* Nicer looking machince
* Ability to switch console off as opposed to stand-by mode feature on XBox360 (Thinking of your carbon-footprint)
As for the gaming capability, I can't really tell the difference between the 2 but ...

Mr R Hern
Review of Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) by
RichH
Advantages: Many features available as standard, not just games
Disadvantages: Technical and PC knowledge an advantage to get the best out of it
...After buying a large capacity Sony Memory card for it (3rd party adaptors to use other card types can be purchased) it is a usefull MP3, or WMA if you go online to enable it - more later, player with nice visualisations available [like MS media player] which I plug into the car via a 3.5mm headphone socket. Via USB connection to a computer .jpg pictures can also be downloaded onto it. These can be viewed manually one by one, skimmed over or played ... ...pictures and visualisations are. Sony cables cost loads but compatibles available from popular auctions sites.
The games have a big black border around them when viewed on the T.V, but after all this is meant to be a portable device - and most T.V have some clever zooming available. The output is 420p.
The video format is MP4 and various converters are available to enable you to create/convert your own. For a 1 1/2 hr film at 420 x 208 is approx ...

Sony PSP
Review of Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Slim & Lite by
MattUtd
Advantages: Great portable media player. Ideal for Games & Movies
Disadvantages: Not so good as an MP3 player as a little bulky.
This is an ideal portable console/MP3 Player and MP4 Player for all. Since having the PSP I no longer find myself bored whilst on the train to work. I generally use it for gaming and watching movies. The gameplay/graphics are awesome for such a small device. The added bonus of the PSP is that you can switch it off and when you switch it back on again it allows you to play where you left off even if this is half way through a football match.
As for ... ...have a large enough memory card, you can load MP4 files and watch movies on the go with the PSP. I don't really use the PSP as an MP3 player as it's a little too bulky for the pocket. I don't think this is the main benefit of the PSP but the option's there.
I would recommend this to anyone who's travelling a lot and it combines all you need in a portable media player. ...

Playstation 2
Review of Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) by
pornostar4
Advantages: The graphics, game ranges and ease of use
Disadvantages: the lenses have been known to go or won't play discs
I have owned my playstation 2 for 5 years now and it has never let me down! The graphics are great, the range of games are good although they are becoming scarce now due to the PS3 release. The control pads are easy to use and the console is easy to operate.
I would say these consoles are suitable from age 3+ as you many games are for that age range.
You are also able to connect to the internet and play online with others which is brilliant especially ...

Bargin Prices
Review of Sony PlayStation 2 - Slimline Model (PS2) by
tafili2007
Advantages: Longs good, Light Weight and Good Price
Disadvantages: May have to order and wait for Memory card
I gotthis as christas present fro someone as the price was very very good. You can get the PS 2 almost everywhere now but it was very hard to find the silver version. The new Slimline version makes it very easy to carry and transport, it can be carried anywhere.
The bargin i went for was based on the price, after shopping around i found that GAME sold the best deal - IN SILVER!!!
For £114 i got the new silver playstation 2 with 1 joystick and 2 ... ...chose on and i got a simpsons game and a car racing game. Other games they were offering were fifa football and a fighting game. The onl down side to having the playstation 2 in silver is that the memory cards are limited, nearly everywhere has sold out. So if you do buy this in silver be aware you may need to order a memory card with a long wait! ...
