Their Customer Service staff were very professional and efficient and kept in touch with me every step of the way. The fitter was absolutely brilliant and transformed my dingy bathroom into a stunning wetroom. George Wimpey Homes
Advantages: Modern, affordable homes Disadvantages: No end of niggles....
I checked out my local George Wimpey development after being fed up of having very little space in our previous home. The show homes looked fab - they were very modern compared to all the other developer's & prices were much lower than simialr sized homes on nearby developments. We chose a 3-storey home since there was so much more space.
Wimpey were fantastic at this point (bear in mind this was 3 yrs ago, when homes were selling well, so they ... ...homes....service may be even better now?!). They helped us sell our old home, by lowering the price & making up the difference between the sale price & the average estimated value themselves. They paid all the legal & selling fees, & even threw on £400 for removals! (For which we paid about £50 & pocketed the rest...!). The sales staff at our development were lovely, & the site manager was always quick to lend a hand when needed.

Be Careful with Bryant Homes
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Very Poor Customer Service
...last six months negotiating with Bryant Homes over a property in Cornwall. Their customer service has been very bad including numerous delays on their behalf making decisions regarding a part exchange and then when I finally received this offer they has used an estate agents who didn't even visit my property! Persimmon made my house a home!

A lot of people knock Persimmon Homes, as they do with most home builders. It may be that I've been lucky, or it might just be that people prefer to complain, but I've had very few problems and, four months down the line, am more than happy with my purchase. My Fiancée and I made the decision to buy a Persimmon property back in February when we saw their new developments advertised in the local paper. Not only was there no deposit required (which ... ...85% of the property, and Persimmon owns the other 15% on a sort of interest-free loan agreement. You have ten years to buy the other 15%, or at the end of the period you have to sell they get 15% of what you sell it for. The good thing about this offer is that they only get 15% minus any improvements you've made. Miller Homes - buy one at your peril
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Rip off
I bought a Miller Home in 2008 and myself and three of my neighbours have been burgled because of Miller staff's incompetence (leaving doors and windows unlocked after working in occupied properties). Rumours of a multi-million pound fraud add to the impression that Miller Homes are not as honest as they should be - and the residents at my development know that items that were meant to be includedd in our 'welcome packs' were stolen by Miller staff ... ...service website doesn't seem to work, so when you report issues via it nothing gets done and you don't even get a response. It was one of Miller's customer service staff who told me that emails sent via the web don't ever get routed to anyone.
