Old, tried and tested Advantages: Old styling which satisfies my dear mother Disadvantages: Not many alternatives Trying to find an older style cooker has been a little bit of a chore ..especially whilst touring the comet/ currys showrooms! My mum was after a new cooker and this was the only style she wanted...as it had a high level grill and thats what she was used to using ...so it had to be. Great cooker but one or two niggles Advantages: Cooks well, energy efficient, looks good Disadvantages: I don't like the hotplate control switches ...had this electric cooker, a Creda C366E, for about a year now and over all I am delighted with it in that it serves its main purpose excellently - it cooks food extremely well. However there are a few niggling things with it. We bought it from ETS which is the south west's largest independent retailer and it was a very good price. I can't remember exactly but it was over £100 cheaper than in Comet. Cooking with gas! (OK, it's really electric!) Advantages: Straightforward to use. Disadvantages: could do with a splash guard over the controls We bought this cooker three years ago from Currys. Doing a quick search on Kelkoo brings it up in the price range £355- £405 at the moment. When we moved we had to leave our old cooker behind - well it was built in! I chose this one because I wanted and electric cooker with a) a double oven b) a ceramic hob. This model has both. "Cooking with Gas" is best, when it works! Advantages: Gas only cooking with two ovens if you prefer gas cooking. Disadvantages: No back up if gas component fails, as in a split double Electric Gas ovens. Creda 230GW We have purchased two Creda "gas" double ovens over the past six years, the most recent just less than twelve months ago. Our experience with the first Creda gas double oven purchased was excellent, with no problems with regard to cooking and grilling. However, towards the end of the five years, my wife who is an experienced cook and has made many wedding cakes to a professional standard, complained that she was not getting a total ... ...can be ordered via a Creda spares company, this I did and fitted the new door handles without to much problem. Then however, a major problem occurred. The adhesive (special adhesive -heat resistant) holding part of the main oven door hinge, detached itself from the glass front panel. This adhesive is not available to purchase via Creda parts. Stoves - NEVER AGAIN Advantages: when it works, it works well Disadvantages: but when something goes wrong it is a nightmare The glass of our Stoves oven was inadvertently cracked by a plumber during a routine gas inspection in October and we had to order a new outer door for the oven. We did this mid OCTOBER and the current delivery estimate is not until mid DECEMBER - that is we are without an oven for at least 2 months and quite possibly without one for Christmas.
