DIPLOMATIC COOKING Advantages: Looks like an authentic Auger Disadvantages: Oven too close to the floor. ...planner, I was informed that Diplomat appliances were exclusive to M.F.I. and were not marketed by anyone else, (hence the fruitless search). The Diplomat 850 Dual Fuel Range cooker is not your average double sized range. It is only 850mm wide as opposed to the larger ones at 1000mm. Having quite a small kitchen a 1000mm range would have been too big. It is the usual 600mm deep to keep in line with the units and has adjustable feet, which can adapt ... ...worktops. The appearance of the cooker is second only to a real Auger, the old fashioned means of cooking, whereby you would fill a fissure with natural fuel like wood or coal and keep it going. In this day and age of “speed is of the essence”, it is no longer practical so therefore this is the next best thing. It is supplied in two colours, cream or green. Avoid Exploding Ovens from MFI! Advantages: Cooks food Disadvantages: Explodes and showers you and your kitchen in glass ...an alternative or a refund, but I wanted to warn peolpe to stay away from Diplomat ovens (and their dishwashers incidentally) as there are a lot of reports about exploding glass. top of the range cooking Advantages: lots of useful functions,Cleans itself Disadvantages: stainless steel can be hard to keep clean I have had my new diplomat cooker for over a month now so have the opportunity to try out many of its features. The Diplomat AHY/4401 S/S also goes by the name of the select 920 multi function double oven. It only comes in the form of a built in oven so its no good if you only have the space for a slot in or built under oven.Mine is fitted into a tower unit as the dimensions of the unit are 897mm tall by 597mm wide so its no good for restricted ... ...my kitchen with the matching diplomat hob and cooker hood.With the stainless steel I have found you must be careful with the cleaning of the face of the oven not to use abrasive chemicals or scratchy brillo pad cloths and to only use a cloth with a diluted solution of washing up liquid. DIPLOMAT AD4830 SS Advantages: absolutely none Disadvantages: lots and lots After only 3 months of purchasing item the inner glass of the top oven shattered everywhere. Very dangerous!! Also had a replacement door because of scratches due to manufacturer. When new door came there was permanent pen all over it. The engineer removed this by polishing it off hence making it more shinier than the top oven door. How did we manage???? Advantages: Being able to cook everything you want in one go!!!! Disadvantages: Wanting dinner parties that i'll have to cook for. Like I said in my title how did we manage before we got this range? I guess by reheating that's how. We have just had a new kitchen fitted and this is what we planned the kitchen around. We walked into MFI and this was one of the first things we saw and we both looked at each other and smiled. We knew we had to have it and at £1000 including the cooker hood we could not resist it. Now it's in it's the centre piece in the kitchen I just wich we did ... ...as it gets all dirty. Anyway a bit about the range itselve. It has 7 burners which consist of the following >> 2 small for simmering, stewing and smaller pans. 3 medium for general domestic use, fish kettles and chip pans. 1 large for boiling, frying and larger pans. 1 wok for wok cooking and larger pans.
