An expensive indulgence

Advantages: Looks, oven versatility, oven temperature speed, oven visibility
Disadvantages: Very poor heat on hobs, useless timer,

Having previously used a good quality touch control halogen hob and separate oven (Baumatic) we were looking forward to our nice new high tec super dooper cooker. First impressions were excellent - a sexy and cool looking cooker - geat for showing off and the controls were easy to use and had tons of features. So off we went to use it..... The ovens - especially the fan oven is easy to use, very versatile and get's to optimum temperature (200c) ...
...used once - we mainly use the grill, whioch again is extremely efficient in getting to temperature and has an excellent heat spread - one of my bugbears. The controls - Lot's of options, child locks, delay timers etc and all the usual you would expect with touch control The timer - WHAT A PAIN. it has two options - up or down. It slowly churns in ten second intervals until it get's to 3mins 50 then it races (and I mean races!) in 1 min increments ...

Great looking oven and good cooking but poor reliability and

Advantages: Good cooking results, nice looks
Disadvantages: Poor reliability and extortionate service support

...and from a brand like Electrolux I expected a lot better. Call out charges from their service department are almost £60 an hour and then they charge for parts also (which I was then charged more for than I subsequently found myself online so go figure!) Overall an oven that cooked really well but for reliability and service I would look elsewhere for the money ...

Review of Electrolux EKC 6047X

Britannia Dynasty 110 range cooker. Smaller than it looks.

Advantages: Chef top, 6 further gas burners. Looks great. Multi-function oven.
Disadvantages: Very small interior to main oven, very difficult to clean hob and oven floor. Expensive.

...of the products in the Britannia cleaning kit (expensive) seems to actually bring cooking carbon off the chrome rings or the brass burners - best product I have found is Astonish. Also it is really difficult to simmer anything - even on the lowest setting, food burns in the pans, except perhaps the very small rings at the front - not helpful when you have more than two things on the go at once! The really worst thing is the tiny size of the main ...

Review of Britannia Dynasty XG 110cm Twin Oven

Stoves - NEVER AGAIN

Advantages: when it works, it works well
Disadvantages: but when something goes wrong it is a nightmare

The glass of our Stoves oven was inadvertently cracked by a plumber during a routine gas inspection in October and we had to order a new outer door for the oven. We did this mid OCTOBER and the current delivery estimate is not until mid DECEMBER - that is we are without an oven for at least 2 months and quite possibly without one for Christmas. It is also the second time we have had to replace the door - the first one was too heavy for the hinges ...

A electric cook with great control

Advantages: Good control, well made and lots of options
Disadvantages: Ovens disable if power is removed

Was given this cooker by a family member, found it very easy to install and get going, the manual is very easy to follow. The black glass top with the rings under it makes the hob top look cool and it very easy to keep clean. A special hob cleaner is recommended. The rings heat up and cool down very quickly giving good control. There is a speed cook ring for fast heating and one of the rear rings can be turned on fully or the inter part can be turned ...
...I love the grill design, there are three self rails and the self is offset, this gives six grilling levels. You also have the option to use half the grill. The grill can also be turned in to a small top oven, saving energy. The oven is fan assisted, great for cooking the turkey and for baking those cakes and buns.
