Advantages: Easy to play, addictive at first Disadvantages: Some of the actions can become repetitive, can cause arm/hand aches and pains!
This is my review of Cooking Mama, a game that I have now owned for a few months now. I bought cooking Mama as I had previously seen it on the Nintendo DS and it seemed like a game I would enjoy. When I bought it, it was £40 and after looking it seems that it is still as expensive.
There are four options that are presented to you after you choose to either start a new game or continue your previous game. These four options are Let's Cook, Friends ... ...recipes that are available. Cooking a recipe will activate further recipes for you to try. Each recipe gets harder as the game goes along.
The example I am going to use is Minestrone Soup from Italy:
The first 10 recipes will be shown on the left hand side of the page. Highlighting on one of the recipes will show details on the right hand side. If you have attempted the recipe before it will show the time that you completed it in and the award ...

Advantages: Some minigames are alright Disadvantages: Graphics won't wow you. Very repetitive. Only a few minigames. Annoying music. Boring.
Remember that cooking game that came out last year on the DS? Don't worry, you're not suffering from memory loss, most people haven't heard of it. Cooking Mama came out last year as a surprisingly fun, yet simple DS game. Cooking Mama is back on the Wii in a crappier version of the DS game.
Story
There is a mama and you must cook for her. The title does not indicate that you are actually cooking mama, but the mama is cooking herself.
Gameplay
... ...honestly, real cooking is more fun than this game… and I hate cooking. Basically the game consists of fifty-five different dishes to cook. To cook these dishes you have to do what you normally do when preparing food, go through the steps to get the final dish. The game will throw you some minigames in which you must complete to make the dish. These minigames are simple and often frustrating. They are steps like cutting fruit, skinning vegetables, ...

Advantages: It is fun for the whole family Disadvantages: Some of the movements are hard to perform
...Basically you have a cooking book with recipes for all over the world. With the wii remote you have to do the cutting, slicing, peeling, in fact everything to prepare the food. when you \'cook\' one recipe another recipes are add to the book. The best part really is when two people cook at the same time. this is good because the fun is double, you want to cook and you want to win the other player. My 9years old daughter always win, so my 4 years son ... ...thing i do not like is that some of the movements are quite difficult, like cracking the eggs. the game is 3+ and it is difficult for me to do some of the cooking ,so imagine a 3years old.
Anyway, I recommend it to all because is great fun. ...

Advantages: Bright, cheery, fun for a while. Disadvantages: Gets irritating after a while
...and possibly botulism from under cooking would ensue.
If you do not perform tasks according to Mama's wishes she is angered and her eyes catch fire!
As far as gameplay goes it's a good drunken party game amongst friends or possibly kids so long as they don't try to follow recipes literally (ratios of ingredients are all out of whack).
I don't really see myself finishing this game as I now hear "WONderfurl, Better than Mama!" in my dreams.
Hate ...

Cooking Mama! Review ofCooking Mama: Cook Off (Wii)by
ivytoad
Advantages: Great fun, almost like the real thing! Disadvantages: Catchy, annoying music! A little childish
...can also play against your Cooking Mama 'friends' to see if you can beat them.
It has quite catchy music, but it is quite repetitive and can get a bit annoying! The recipes are varied and from different countries which makes it quite exciting.
I quite like the graphics, they are quite basic but work with the game well. It is not hard to control the game and would be good for any age group.
It's not quite like cooking in real life but I found this ... ...is quite good for hand-eye co ordination and cooking Mama guides you and gives you encouraging words. I have to say I don't play it that much any more having completed all the recipes, but I really was hooked at the start and is a great game for mindless fun. ...
