Advantages: Burgers don't fall apart Disadvantages: Can be tricky to assemble
A big success in our household the burgermaker from Lakeland is a simple to use gadget, which allows you to make great burgersquickly and simply. I had stopped buying shop burgers after the BSE scare and decided to have a go at making my own. Yes, you can make burgers without this gadget but mine do have a tendency to fall apart. By using the burgermaker they hold their shape and are much easier to cook and turn over.
£6.50 from Lakeland Ltd the burgermaker consists of four white plastic parts – A Plunger, Body, Pressure Plate and Bottom Plate, and a large spring and some waxed discs. Each part has a letter and these are illustrated in the instructions. As it is a simple gadget the instructions are written on a small single two-sided sheet of paper. The burgers shrink much less than ready made frozen ones
You can include your favourite things in exactly the quantities you prefer
The burgers are nicely shaped

I immediately discovered I had too much mixture in mine and chicken mince juices oozed out of the machine. But I guess that was my fault as chicken mince is quite wet anyway.
The burgers look like bought burgers and grilled fantastically, they held together like a dream.
