I bought a new chip pan because my old one had started to leak. My old 1 is a Cookworks but one of the kids had placed too near my gas cooker when cooking and the side had melted. So this caused it to leak

I bought it from Argos and at the moment it's priced at £16.95 normal price is £19.99 and it will stay at the lower price till 29th July.

Why did I buy this model ??
Because it was cheap and considering what happened to the last one I didn't want to spend a great deal on a new one and its capacity is good.

It has a 3litre capacity and can cook1.2kg of food. Having teens this was one of the larger capacities. It's so simple to use u just fill with either vegetable or sun flower oil I prefer vegetable you can also use lard or dripping. But it warns you not to use olive oil reason being? I really don't know.

To use
Just plug it in and you will see a red light when that goes off its ready to put in your food.
On the front have pictures of foods with their cooking times.
Chips 12- 15
Frozen 10 -12
Chicken 8- 10
Frozen 10-15
Fish 4-8
Frozen 8- 12
Mushrooms 4-8
Frozen 5-9
So it gives you a rough idea of how long to leave your food in it.

Before u actually put your food in it though u have to take off the lid by holding the sides and screwing lid anticlockwise. It does warn you to be aware of steam as if you use the lid there may be a build up under it.
But I never use the lid.

You can attach the handle to the basket just by slotting it in and u can lock the handle in place just by pressing the lock so when you shake the basket it doesn't come off.
To unlock the handle just press it again.

So far so good if you want something simple and easy to use then go for it. It's also safe as it has cool wall sides. This means u can touch the sides at any stage of cooking and they remain cool so if there are little fingers bout there is no worry about them being burnt.

Drawbacks.
Yes there is just one or two. Firstly when you remove the handle there is no where to store it apart from your cutlery draw and although I never use the lid can be fiddly to put back on. Also the lid has filters which have to be changed every so often.
The second drawback is that the middle does not come out so can be awkward to clean as it can not be immersed in water but you can place water in it once you have poured out all the oil.

On the whole I bought it because it was cheap it works im happy!

Dimensions of the fryer height 250 cm and circumference 820cm
