The redesigned kettle is basicaly flawed with the on/off switch being mechanically linked to the power connector. ...also suffers from overboiling due to the Lid popping up slightly and allowing steam to escape instead of tripping the thermal switch. (now on 3rd kettle of this model, both having failed with the same fault within 5 months) . If they could resolve the problems with the lid and sort out the power switch linkage, they could have a really great product that would beat the competition (even those costing £60 or more) hands down.
