Yesterday morning whilst venturing into the land of the living, I decided it was time to wake myself fully with a second cup of coffee of the day. Sadly, my attempts failed as my old kettle decided it was going to retire after 6 years of dedicated service. I was then reduced to the saucepan on the cooker routine to boil water and eventually got that second coffee.
Whilst finally enjoying my coffee I decided to browse through the Argos Catalogue for a replacement kettle. Advantages: Ease to use and clean Disadvantages: Cant steam vegetables
...I got this rice cooker last year and am very happy with it so far.Rice comes really fluffy and since you dont have to throw the boiled water away, you get to retain the nutrients. You have to just add water and plug in,and it switches off to WARM mode once the rice is cooked automatically. So even if Iam in a hurry and go out,I can always depend on it for a warm meal when I get home.It is easy to clean as well and the glass lid is quite strong.I found a good bargain of this in Argos sale last january when it was reduced to half price from it RRP of £19.99.So its best to buy during sales. On the downside,I sometimes now feel(after getting used to the easy cooking) whether I could have bought one with a steaming tray as well, but I wouldnt have got one under a tenner. So if you have a bigger budget,go for one with a steamer as well...

I went to ASDA and purchased a Pacific 3 tier steamer for the reasonable price of £12.99 - now before you click ‘Off Topic’, I know I’m reviewing a Cookworks steamer, just bear with me and the point will become clear (I hope!) Anyway, so there’s me, in my new flat, cooking with my Pacific steamer almost every night for 3 weeks, until that is, it broke. Basically boiled dry. I didn’t realise the water level had gone down to zero, therefore knackering the element bit...

This is a really good rice and steamer combo Cooker.
It cooks quickly and effieciently, had a few teething problems at first, kept burning the rice :S put in the amount of water it suggested but it just wasn't enough. But once there is enough it makes more
