Advantages Quick, Whole Fruit, Looks Good

Disadvantages Difficult to clean, Noisy, Messy

I purchased mine from Argos at £25 (Half price), this was good value for a whole fruit juicer. However, if I had paid fifty quid I would have been disappointed.

It does take whole fruit and has two speed settings depending on the type of fruit to be juiced (it gives a table at the back of the leaflet). It is very quick and I've used it to juice whole apples (pips and all) no problem. It gets a lot of juice out but it also produces a lot of frothy scum. I don't know if this is normal as I've never used a juicer before. Mine also leaked from around the lid.

It is NOISY with a 600W motor that I think they use to start Harrier engines and I wouldn't recommend using it early in the morning when you live in a block of flats like me, if you want to be on good terms with your neighbours.

This juicer isn't particularly well designed. There are nooks and crannies in the filter housing that make it awkward to clean. There is also a partition in the juice collector (I don't know if it is supposed to be removable - mine won't budge). This makes cleaning the collector very irritating and I would recommend purchasing a small bottle brush/test tube cleaner to get behind the partition. I was lazy/dumb enough to leave the juicer uncleaned overnight and it was a total nightmare to clean the dried bits of orange pulp off. The filter takes a lot of effort to clean when it isn't caked in dried on pulp anyway.

For £25 it's ok - you get what you pay for. If you were thinking of paying the RRP of £50 - I'd look elsewhere.

This review made me think twice about buying this product, but I did in the end. It is truthful and correct, but I disagree with the significance of the noise. It IS noisy, but only so much as any other similar kitchen device not a Harrier jet! I think the frothy scum is to be expected with a centrifugal juicer. I have had a go at straining it which works well but am not sure I'll continue as it clogs the strainer up quickly. Its probably all part of the goodness of the juice. Very important point to clean it immediately after use - I had fun cleaning having simply left it to dry a little while eating my dinner! A good review, but must be read in conjunction with others reviews for the same product, and perhaps with a little knowledge of juicers.
