...The Cookworks MK17DOB, for me, is a great example of how simple no fuss products can be well made for a small price without sacrificing quality. I often feel that with the larger name brands, their less expensive options are usually vastly inferior to their higher price models; the specifications being much reduced and the quality of design and materials used being less than satisfactory at times, usually breaking fairly soon. The larger companies seen to want to breed the notion that the quality of a product should correlate to it's price, hoping to reinforce the idea that you pay more, you get more. That's why as a student I have always ignored any big brand name electronics companies for the little things like kettles and toasters. Seeing as we have moved in to a brand new build flat it seemed such a shame to be taking a load of our older household furniture and equipment. After clearing out the kitchen and moving the old microwave out of its position of the last seven years I was able to see clearly for the first time that the white colourings of the microwave had turned a rather worn yellow colour. This would certainly show up more in our new fitted white kitchen and I for one was not prepared to move it and tarnish the look of our new flat. A quick browse in the Argos catalogue showed me all I needed when I saw this Cookworks silver microwave for a cheap price.

Yesterday morning whilst venturing into the land of the living, I decided it was time to wake myself fully with a second cup of coffee of the day. Sadly, my attempts failed as my old kettle decided it was going to retire after 6 years of dedicated service. I was then reduced to the saucepan on the cooker routine to boil water and eventually got that second coffee.
Whilst finally enjoying my coffee I decided to browse through the Argos Catalogue for a replacement kettle.
