My first experiment was with a premixed granary flour/yeast mix. The packet explained how much water to use and the end result was not too bad, although a little moist - so I would use about 1 tablespoon less water the next time. ...locally and eventually found the Cookworks XBM1038 in Argos at £23.99. This machine bears an uncanny resemblance to the Morphy Richards 4825 and based on this we went and bought one. On opening the box we found that indeed, with a few exceptions the unit appeared to be a re-badged Morphy Richards. It has a couple of extra functions (called Ultra Fast) over the Morphy Richards 4825 and slight cosmetic changes. It works as good as my old unit and produces ... ...you follow the instructions - gives reasonably good results. Unlike the Morphy Richards the documentation is a little rough and measurements for the water and flour are given in Milli-litres and Grams as appossed to cups which means a litle more work in combining he ingredients. Overall, this machine perfoms as well as the Morphy Richards and is money well spent in providing that fresh cooked bread smell along with bread that has none of the unwanted ...

I bought this bread-maker from Argos and have to say that I don't really have any major complaints. Alright it is one of the cheaper models, but it still does the job fine. 12 different functions, some of which can be used to make just dough or mixes for cakes. Yes I would recommend it.
Good Points:
Fairly priced, comes with instructions/recipe ideas, delay timer, easy to clean, easy to programmee digital display, comes with measuring tools. Keep ... ...all bread-makers are), instructions have spelling mistakes (looks like they have been poorly translated) it is not clear whether the bread tin is dishwasher proof. loaf tin is not very big, so find myself making up to 3 loaves a week. Can be quite loud, particularly if setting it to come on over night!

When putting the ingredients into the machine, sift the flour (it makes bread more light) put the wet ingredients in first, make a small 'well' ...
