a "coffee table book" that is likely to inspire you to go camping rather than to keep in the glove box of the car for when you know you are already going. The AA camping books are more likely to be the one you would keep in the car as a reference because of the large list of sites they carry. Other books which feature hand picked sites such as the Alan Rogers series are a little closer to Cool Camping. These tend to be based on facilities such as having clean showers for instance rather than the "unusual experience" I quoted earlier. A site with no facilities would not make it into that book - but if its unique it doesn?t matter if your in a farmers field with no toilet - as long as its cool it will make it into this book. If one book could persuade a non camper to give it a go then this might be it. The pictures in the book somehow awaken ...

Graeanfryn Farm in North Wales - camping and caravanning site

Advantages: Not too far from Portmadog, sandy beaches around 1 mile away, prices quite reasonable
Disadvantages: Toilets/showers could have been a lot cleaner, terrible Welsh weather, not much space on site

with lots of really nice beaches nearby. Although we had been to the town before, we had never actually visited this particular caravan and camping site. The site is at: Morfa Nefyn Gwynedd North Wales LL53 6YQ The surrounding area is mountainous, very quiet and perfect if you like walking or want to get away from it all. Although the beaches are said on the leaflet to be 1 mile away from the site and we are all good walkers, we found that we would have to drive to get to any good sandy beaches, especially carrying all our belongings that we would want to take to the beach. We also couldn't walk to a shop as there were none nearby, we had to drive to another town by just following the road and finding the nearest shop to buy anything. I would just like to write a review on camping, from my own very many years worth of experience! If you have never been camping, then you don't quite know what you are missing - yet. Camping usually means spending up to two weeks in a tent that leaks, with another person who snores and so keeps you up all night - or a dog that also keeps you awake by farting and licking you all over the face all night. But there are some advantages to it, but I have yet to find out what they are! However, with all said here are some thoughts on both sides of the matter. Because I love it really! Camping can be in anything from a glorified filed rented out by a local farmer, to a proper concern by means of a full-on camping site with added facilities.
