(+) Funky pattern, quick to heat up, adjustable temperature, slim, lighweight (-) Have to prise them away from mum when I want to use them in the morning
Advantages: Easy to use, Stylish, Straighten hair very quickly Disadvantages: Expensive, It is quite common for the fuse to blow - but they are under warranty
I love my straightners. They heat up within seconds and make a "beep" to advise you when they are at the correct temperature. In my opinion they are sleek and stylish and very easy to use. For first time GHD users the only advise I would give it do not hold the straighters in position for too long or it can case 'lines' to be left in the hair. Try and make the straighters glide through the hair. You can also get the straightners in various colours and styles, I own the plain black ones as you do have to pay an additional £20 for the patterned or pink ones. Personally, I don't find the 'styling' products made by GHD much different to high street brands. ...
Advantages: Warm up fast, smooth hair Disadvantages: None
I have just got this ghd's, after having used ghd's for years! I must say these pink ones seem to be better designed, and feel a lot smoother on my hair, whether that's just because they are new, or technology has improved i don't know! Allthough you do pay out a bit more for ghd's, i'd never go back, they warm up so fast (7seconds!) and really do give your hair a smooth finish compared to other straightners I have used. I also use these to curl my hair, so they kind of do two jobs (well) in once! The hot pink colour is also a great bonus, they look so sleek and trendy, and really put a finish to your beauty products! I'd say definately purchase some of these for fab hair girls!!! ...
Advantages: Easy & Quick to use Disadvantages: Results may not last very long
I bought these straightners from a sales rep within a shopping centre in Manchester, they were £80 when I bought them (so £40 cheaper than the ghds). The rep convinced me that they were just as good as ghds as they have an adjustable heat switch - up to 180degrees, and ceramic plates. She told me that they are designed to lock in moisture and not dry out your hair.
Two years later I am still determined not to buy the ghds (as I believe you are just paying for the name) and there are much cheaper straightners out there that are just as good.
The corioliss classics are very simple to use, they have a salon length cable and a metal hook for safe and easy styling.
They also heat up quite quickly.
I would say that the results don't seem to last long, but I think thats just my hair because when my friends use them they get smooth ...
