I don't have a policy with Cornhill, but from what I have heard and the service you get from them I wouldn't want too.

Advantages: cheap, a little bit of peace of mind Disadvantages: the policy is not clear, the do not cover for much, terrible customer services in the mobile insurance department
...Whenever I have to call cornhill I always get rude people on the other end of the phone too and I think their service is disgusting.
A lot of people I work with too do not like the service they get from Cornhill either when we try to help out our customers. They say they don't have records of customers and we have to fax them the details, they will say they have not received the fax to send it again, when clearly they have, they say What e-mail ... ...customer states that they took Cornhill insurance to curt over a matter with their insurance policy and won his case.So I will avoid them like the plague.
Now I do believe in paying slightly more each month where you are covered for everything or most things.
The best mobile insurance I have ever seen on the masrket today is lifeline complete with the Carphone Warehouse> For £26.50 per quater they will cover for faulty ... more

But wait for it. When the customer wants to make a claim what happens. They get refused most of the time. Why? because they say the customer is not covered. This is even when ther customer provides proof.
They also only pay out very very few claims. If a customers phone is stolen it has to be forceable theft and these days I believe more phones are pinched without the victim even knowing i.e pick pocketers as opposed to an actual mugging.
Now also when the cust receives their insurance details, there is nothing on there which states that it is forceable theft, it only states theft and the customer will need a crime reference number to claim.
The customer will supply the crime refernce number and they will still in some cases not accept the claim.
Now I can understand how they work and that they cannot possibly accept every claim that a customer puts in, even for theft otherwise they would loose business.
Also I do believe you get what you pay for e.g £4.99 a month is the lowest insurance policy premium I have ever known so the things you are covered for are less but if a customer calls up and says what do I do now as my claim wasn't accepted and you tell them they have to replace the handset themselves or depending how many months they have left advise them to pay off their contract, they say they had their phone stolen so what are they paying their insurance for each month and they wanna cancel it and my sheet of paper says I am covered if my phone is stolen.
I actually have access to there insurance documents and they are not worded very well and I can totally understand the customers frustration here.

I generally don't like their mobile insurance services at all.
They try accept as few claims as possible and they spend ages on processing it and just say the customer is not covered for the hell of it.
A customer states that they took Cornhill insurance to curt over a matter with their insurance policy and won his case.So I will avoid them like the plague.

The best mobile insurance I have ever seen on the masrket today is lifeline complete with the Carphone Warehouse> For £26.50 per quater they will cover for faulty phones, damaged phones by anyhting, including water damage, loss, stolen generally everything so for a few pounds more you can put your mind at rest and know that if you had to make a claim then you would be covered for everything.
As a whole I do not believe in insurance anyway.I have never had to make a claim so imagine how much money I have saved, as over the years the ammount you pay works out to be a lot more than what you have to claim.

Quick review of Cornhill Insurance
For Home Cover, Cornhill were very reasonable priced and by far offer a greater depth of cover and service compared to other companies that I've dealt with.
When things took, shall we say, a turn for the worse at home last year, they really helped get everything back together for me and took the trauma and stress out of what could have been a very difficult and drawn out process. Really friendly customer services and the policy covers everything!
Well Recommended. ...

...a great experience with the Cornhill Company. The staff have been very open , honest and helpful and have guided me through a very difficult situation with my home. I had not expected that the level of cover would be so high and that so many things i had not considered would be looked after. The speed of the claim was brilliant and they really helped me get my life back to normal again after the flood. I would say that there was some difficulty at ...

Advantages: Dooohhh!!! None Disadvantages: They exist!!!
I have no idea how competitive Cornhill are, what kind of company they are ( other than being a subsidiary of the Allianz group) but I do know one thing, dont expect a quick settlement of any claim.
I was travelling to the local ciname on the 21st January this year when the car behind me was hit from behind shunting him into me. I had my three kids in the car so it was a traummatic experience. We exchanged details and the driver of the car at fault agreed and accpted liability. He was also a company car driver so I was reasonably confident that everything was above board. I am insured with direct line and I reported the accident to them and contacted Cornhill. This is where the fun began.
Cornhill couldnt talk to me about the accident until they had recieved the completed form from their client. A couple of weeks passed and they ...
My father died in Feburary at the wheel of his car and was insured by this cowboy outfit. They accepted the statement of facts from me as next of kin and accepted my authority for the car to be written off and a cheque to be issued. The father died and as a result hit a wall (at low speed) but if caused damage to the front stantsion and could not be repaired. I lived 300 miles away from my parents so travelled down to sort out his affairs. I closed his bank account. He didnt have any money to speak of. I sorted everything out including the life insurance and got paid in my own name without any problem. However those rip off merchants at cornhill refused to make the cheque payable to me and constantly issued cheques payable to my Father. I kept complaining and they said they needed proof I was the next of kin. This was imposible as he was ...
Advantages: Fast, friendly service - great quotes for under-25s. Disadvantages: They probably aren't competitive for older drivers with a good N.C.B
At the age of 21, I bought a Ford Escort Ghia (1994) 1.6 16v. With no No-Claims Bonus, the cheapest insurance quote I got was £1000, Fully Comprehensive. Yes, you did read that correctly. My occupation isn't dodgy and I have a clean license as well. Anyway, my poor car got stolen and my premium rocketed by another £400 with the same insurers (Lloyd's of London, incidentally - please avoid if you value your cash!). After telling them where they could stick their insurance, I phoned around most of the big insurers (Cornhill, Norwich Union, PremiumSearch, even KwikFit!!) I finally called Admiral. What a pleasant surprise I got. Firstly, they quoted me about £500 cheaper than the best other quote I'd had, which was £1000, and they put me on their 'Bonus Accelerator' policy - which boils down to the fact that you earn a year's No-Claims Bonus ...
