Billed as the ultimate party beer and Mexico’s top selling beer it seemed worth a try on a night out to a pub which seemed to cater for the slightly different taste and did not have any of the beers or lagers I would normally drink. I can honestly tell you I have never tasted anything like it and I don’t mean that in a complimentary way either.
The bottle ■■■■■■■■
All starts very well with a simple yet attractive looking bottle, virtually all clear with only the one label on the front which is white and black and carry`s the name of the beer (corona extra) and a few more bits of info such as the country of origin (Mexico) and the alcohol content (4.6% ABV). It looks like a refreshing bottle of beer so, so far so good.
The taste ■■■■■■■■
Let’s face it unless you just intend to get blasted on any kind of alcohol available then the taste is the most important thing about a bottle of beer and this is where this particular brand starts to go right of course. I am not sure what I can most liken this beer to; the actual taste of beer is so minimal it’s untrue. I have tasted alcohol free beers and lagers that taste more like the real thing. This beer honestly tasted like nothing more than fizzy water. Any good beer will carry the taste of hop, malt or both, this beer has neither and doesn’t even have an after taste which any beer drinker will know all beers have.
I am going to paint a disgusting picture now of how I think you could reproduce the taste of this beer. Take a tin of cheap lager which has only a few drops left in it and has been lying this way for a few days, open a bottle of Perrier sparkling water and add the few drops of stale flat beer mix with a spoonful of sugar or your favourite sweetener and my god I think you have it ...... corona extra!

None of us finished the bottles and we all urged the other three to try it and see how bad it really was. If this is Mexico’s top selling beer then I have to assume its there only beer.
How to drink it ■■■■■■■■■■■■
Baring in mind that this is beer I would think there was only one way to drink it, well possibly two. Just drink it or drink it with a touch of lemonade. Apparently I am wrong, here is a list of genuine ways that corona reckon you can enjoy there beer.
1) Fill a half pint glass three quarters full with corona extra then top up with champagne, add lemon and serve. 2) Again a half pint glass this time half filled with corona extra then fill almost to the top with lemonade finally add just a few drops of blackcurrant concentrate 3) A pint glass this time half filled with corona extra then either fill up with your choice of cider or near fill with your choice of cider then add a few drops of blackcurrant concentrate 4) A pint glass again half filled with corona extra then almost fill with soda water and add a few drops of lemon and lime concentrate 5) Last but not least, apparently known as a Mexican bullet fill a half pint glass almost to the brim and then drop a shot of tequila in it.
It appears to me these ideas are merely a way of giving this drink some taste!!
The cost should you feel the need to buy it ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
We paid £3.10 a bottle for it but we were in a very expensive club and it can actually be found in most pubs as an inexpensive option. Some of the bars around my way are selling this for as little as £1.20 a bottle but even at that price I would leave it alone.
It can also be found in many supermarkets and local stores; again the price varies quite dramatically depending on where bought. Asda regularly have it in six packs for £3.99 where as my local spar tries to get away with selling four packs for that price so if you do intend buying this for some obscure reason be sure to at least shop around.
Let’s wrap this review up ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
By now you now know that I dislike this stuff to say the very least, it really has very little taste and is over priced in many places. I have noticed it to be fairly popular in some of my high street pubs with women who drink it in half pint glasses with a slice of lemon. Perhaps that’s because most women don’t actually like beer and this tastes nothing like beer.
All in all this is not a beer I would recommend to anyone who actually likes to drink something with taste!
Advantages: It's somewhere to stick a slice of lime Disadvantages: Where do I start
...be a Mexican beer like Corona Extra. I won't make that mistake again. Corona Extra is Mexico's number one beer, USA's top import and is hugely popular worldwide. In fact it is among the top five beer brands globally. It's the flagship beer of Grupo Modelo, who are based in Mexico City.
In the UK, it is imported and distributed 'south of the border, down Bedford way', by Charles Wells. They brew very nice ales such as Bombadier, Eagle and Banana ... ...Wells doesn't seem to mention Corona on their website. I wonder why? The bottom half of the label is black, has the word ' beer ' ' biere ' ' cerveja ' and ' bier ' on one side and the alcohol strenght of 4.6% vol on the other side. It also states that the beer is produced by Cerveceria Modelo, S.A. De C.V. Mexico, DF.

Advantages: Great taste and goes marvellously with tequilla! Disadvantages: Hard to find
Corona Extra
Corona is Mexico's best selling beer, is huge in the US and is beginning to make an impact here in the UK. It boasts rich golden colour, 4.6% ABV and a smooth yet crisp finish which does not leave you feeling bloated. It is great with a wedge of lime (make sure to crush the lime into the bottle to get the juice out before drinking!) or on it's own as a tequilla chaser (only 100% agave will do!!!).

Corona in the UK used to hold, and in some places still does, a premium lager status. It was generally available in Mexican Restaurants, wine bars, cocktail bars and some large off license chains. This is slowly beginning to change with Corona now available (in Portsmouth anyway) in ASDA (£3.88 - £4.03 for 4 bottles, sometimes £10 for 12), Makro (£20 for 24 (inc VAT)) and JD Wetherspoons pubs (£1.19 for a bottle). Advantages: very refereshing drink Disadvantages: hard to find in Supermarkets,
I got introduced to Corona Extra whilst in the pub on friday night with some work colleagues, I was rather curious when people were drinking Corona. I am not a beer/lager drinker...I normally just stick to pre mixed vodka drinks (alcopops but like i'm going to say im an alcopop drinker) but like i said i was curious to try it, my mate let me try hers. At first i didn't like it at all (as i was so used to sweet drinks) but the sweetness and tangy ... ...point that i just drunk Corona all night.
Corona Extra is a pilsner type beer (or lager what ever you want to call it I don't know the difference anyway) was first brewed in 1925 in Mexico, it is Mexicos top selling beer and is imported into the United States - its actually the USA's top import. The brand is owned by the Groupo Modelo, of Mexico City. Corona Extra is brewed under license all around the world.
The beer SHOULD (as all beers/lagers/alcholic ...

Advantages: Suitable for milder drinkers, or consumed in warmer climates a, cheaper then some other brands Disadvantages: A bit to light, a bit too gassy, flavors does not bloom
Well, first tasted Stella Artoise.
To me, it is a bit too light on the taste buds and a bit too gassy. Somewhat like CoronaExtra.
As for flavor, I would say that it does not really blooms in my mouth. Unlike certain beer like Hoegarrden or Forbidden Fruit that contains sweet, smokey, fruity, and oaky flavor.
In my opinion, the color of this lager brand is satisfactory but it would be so nice if it is aged longer in an oak berrel. Storing in oak berrels does gives flavor to the beer. Somewhat like making Brandy
To me, overall, Stella Artoise lager is still consumable, anyways, fun and satisfaction with beer also comes from the people we share it with.
In my preference, I would go for Hoegarrden, Forbidden Fruit from Belgium and Leffe from Germany.
Half thumbs up for Stella! ...
Advantages: Delightful and Enriching Taste. Disadvantages: None
I?ve never attempted a wine opinion before, so believe it when I say that it took something special to make me write this one. To be honest though I do enjoy many wines draught ale?s and assorted lagers, especially the beautiful CoronaExtra and these have tended to satisfy my requirements up until now.
The one occasion that I do really enjoy a glass or two of wine is with my Sunday dinner, and to satisfy this need I have tried many a bottle from the local off licences and supermarkets with the offerings from Blossom Hill Vineyards up to now being my personal favourites.
That is until one day I came across a tall slim elegant bottle on the shelves of Asda?s wine department. The wine is instantly recognisable as the bottle is finished in royal blue, lined with gold and has a picture of a nun in a white and blue habit emblazoned ...
Advantages: Taste, Goes down easily, Cheap (6 for £5) Disadvantages: Not the best (though freaking great)
Just previous to this review I'd had a bottle of San Miguel ("San Awful"- http://www.ciao.co.uk/SanMiguelPremiumLagerReview5632358), then sat down to a bottle of Miller. Thankfully I'd still had a Miller left in the fridge after the previous nights drinking.
Miller is one of the few beers that comes in a clear glass bottle (as the beers can be given a malty taste if left in sun light, as can also be seen in Coronaextra), Miller is an American 4.7% import from apparently America's second top company. Which they claim as being "America's quality beer", personally I'd agree.
Now onto the actual review...well actually it wasn't, the review was started like 2 weeks ago but I never actualy got round to finishing it as my flat mate drank the one I saved so here's the review as I've got one with me.
