Advantages: large storage and build of quality Disadvantages: expensive for a flash drive but you get what you pay for
As a rule I try not to carry my laptop around with me, opting instead to transport files the easy way using USBflashdrives, of which I have 3 due to the size of the files I have to load and upload. My first encounter with a flashdrives came with the expensive yet disappointing Lexar and over the years I've steadily moved from one to another gradually increasing the memory size as the size of files seems to spiral out of all proportion! I paid just £65.99 for the CorsairFlash Voyager USBflashdrive from our IT supplier and with a 32 GB memory I had anticipated it being my final purchase of a flashdrive for a considerable period of time.
Opting for a USBflashdrive from a company like Corsair meant that I knew I would be getting a product of quality, and the Flash Voyager oozes quality and style. Compact and durable the drive can ...
Advantages: Speed of small transfers Disadvantages: No ReadyBoost, feels cheap
Hi today I will be reviewing a Kingston DataTravler 2GBUSBFlashDrive. I bought this a few months ago after losing my other flashdrive. It cost me 9.97 from PC World but I believe you can get them cheaper in other places.
Speed
For the data that I transfer to it i.e. pictures and some small visual basic programs it transfers them extremely quick compared to some cheap flashdrives I have used in the past.
Problems
So far I have had no major problems other than in windows vista it is not capable of running ReadyBoost which a free flashdrive I had a while ago could.
Size
The overall size of the flashdrive is quiet good the USB connector slides in and out with a rather flimsy press and slide switch.
Feel
The Kingston feels rather cheap and plastic considering the price I paid for it anyway.
Over all this is not a bad ...
Advantages: price, speed and reliability Disadvantages: A little large but ideal to put on your car keys etc
I use USBflashdrives frequently and regularly have to replace them, I carry them with my car keys which especially with laptops they bend. And I can finally say that I have found one that can take anything!!
This gadget is encased in rubber, is water resistant and comes with a 10 year manufactures guarantee, which shows you how robust they are. It is not the smallest of pens yet I find those are the one which are most likely to fail, however it is not that large either. So if you value your data rather than squeezing it in your wallet, I would highly recommend this product. I bought one for £18 over a year ago and whilst in my lap top my dog sat beside me and knocked it which resulted in a loose connection, and the manufacture replaced it for me, new for old. They are ~ £13 from Amazon now so a bargain.
Here are some ...
