My husband has bleeding gums and I bought Corsodyl Daily Defence because I by the name I thought it could be used daily. When they brought out the toothpaste I also got him some to use. I always knew the classic Corsodyl mouthwash shouldn't be used regularily but advertising made me think these other two were ok.
My husbands teeth are now a horrible brown colour and no amount of teeth whitening toothpastes are making any difference.Our dentist has cleaned his teeth twice recently but he says no Corsodyl product should be used for more than a week.
It does state on the Daily Defence bottle that it may cause temporary staining which can be removed by twice daily brushing or by a Hygenist. It also states not to drink tea,coffee or red wine an hour after using.I regret to say I did not read this beforehand, but there is no mention of any staining on the Corsodyl toothpaste tube.
In my opinion people need to be very careful when using these products,I feel so guilty for trying to help my husband ,but in doing so have saddled him with brown teeth. It now looks as though he is a very heavy smoker even though he has never smoked in his life.
