Not very often do we get freebies from the dentist but I did the other day. I just went for a general check up and everything was pretty much fine apart from the fact that I have thinning of the tooth enamel from my eating disorder but theres no change there lol. I use sensitive toothpastes as it is however I use any old mouthwash really and explained that to him when he asked what I used but he felt this would be better for me and so handed me 50ml sample size to give a trial to.

The Packaging:

This is on sale in a 500ml bottle only to the best of my knowledge and costs about £4.70 a bottle, which to be fair is a little higher than I'd normally be happy to pay but like I say I got a free sample of this!

The bottle is plastic and green and white in colour with a push and twist style cap to the top of it. On the front of the bottle we are told that it is indeed Corsodyl Daily Defence Mint Mouthwash and that it is effective in plaque reduction, gives up to 12 hours protection, fights cavities and bad breath and is clinically proven. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told how to use it, ingredients and safety advice is given as is the size stated and contact details for GlaxoSmithKline are given (the manufacturer of the product). Nice enough bottle this is and informative enough too.

Using It:

Well all you do to use this is simply brush the teeth first (twice daily is recommended) and after that to swill about 10ml of this in the mouth, to me thats just about half a mouthful and I swish it about as much as I can in my mouth before spitting it out and thats it then, job done.

The liquid is transparent and appears like water with a really highly sweet aroma of mint to it which is really natural in my opinion. Taste wise it is nicely flavoured, warming and tingles in the mouth slightly though not too harshly and really does freshen my breath in the noticeably fragrant way for about half an hour though it gets rid of plenty nasty niffs long term though sadly not the smell of garlic in my experience.

This makes my teeth and my tongue feel refreshed and very clean indeed. Teeth also feel cleaner for longer and after using it I really can't feel any plaque clinging on to my teeth at all.

This is a brilliant quality mouthwash, recommended by my Dentist and I can see why. Its pleasant to use and effective yet at the same time gentle on my teeth. I can't say really whether it gives total cavity protection of course but I trust that it is a clinically proven product and one that on an everyday use basis (twice) works really well for me, though the price isn't great and a bit high for me to justify purchasing it when I feel others that are far cheaper probably do the same thing to be honest.

Available in all good chemists and supermarkets etc.

We use Corsodyl regularly, but not daily - I'm convinced that it keeps winter germs at bay too. R. xxx

Well reviewed. I always have a stock of Corsodyl at home. There is nothing quite like it for handling mouth infections.
