Well I have 2 children, a 14 month old and a 3 year old, and I FINALLY decided to buy a double pushchair after all this time because my baby was getting too heavy for a sling. First I bought a twin(side by side) pushchiar but after using it for one day I decided it wasnt going to work (couldn't get in anywhere, getting in peoples way, hard to walk along pavement), so I decided to buy a tandem and after a lot of consideration this is the one i chose
ABOUT THIS PUSHCHAIR
The pushchair comes easy to assemble, you just fold it out and attach the wheels and hoods. It also comes with a 5 year guarantee which is really excellent considering you only get 1 year with most pushchairs.
I was worried about the wheels, as I had read that they were inflatable ones, but to my delight they now seem to have come to their senses and replaced them with standard wheels, so no punctures!:D
The front seat on the pushchair does not recline however it does look very comfortable and is set at just the right angle, not too upright and not too laid back. The back seat is lovely, it comes like a little nest for newborns but you can pull the flaps back and make it into a seat for older children which is what I have done. It reclines totally flat and both my children can sit in there very comfortably.
A lot of reviews I have read say that this pushchair is too heavy, I do not agree. Yes it is heavy when you have two children in there, and it gets hard to steer when you add a couple of shopping bags too:), but it's not too heavy, and in comparison to other doubles it is very light.
The shopping basket really sucks! There is only room in there for the raincover, so it shouldnt really be called a shopping basket at all. However, the pushchair feels really robust and strong, so there is no problem with putting shopping bags on the handle bars, I have put 4 heavy tesco bags on there and walked 3 miles home with it and it did not tip or show any signs of strain.
The colours and design of the pushchair really look good, it looks more expensive than it is. It's really short for a double and I have already recieved several compliments on it
This pushchair is umbrella fold and fits easily into my 306, although it wont fit into my mother in law's Astra without taking the seat down as it is too long
All in all, for the value and quality I would say this is one of the best tandems on the market, if you cant afford a phil and ted:)
Oh and please please do yourself a favour and never buy a twin pushchair they are evil:D
