Basically it is a rocker chair for babies - made by Cosatto - one of the leading nursery specialists. It's definately a name you can trust. They also make cots, puschairs etc.
The chair is cream and grey in colour - one of the reasons I bought it as it was fairly neutral and didn't find out the sex of the baby before she was born. It is luxurious and padded and made from a lovely fleecey fabric. It is beautifully soft. The cover can be removed for washing too.
It is suitable for use from birth until the baby can sit up by themselves.
There are two ways to have the chair - you can either have it as a stable chair whichdoes not move or you can have it as a rocker - by adjusting the simple bar at the back.
There is a small box at the bottom - insert your batteries and you have the feature or 2 speeds of vibration - Charlotte seems to find this quite soothing and is also good for helping to bring up wind! There is also a lullabye feature which plays various lullabies and nursery rhymes or a nature feature which plays calming birdsong sounds. Although this is a great feature it forced us to by a battery charger as it takes2 C batteries which can tend to run out quickly - especially if like my husband you forget to turn it off!! The sounds turn off themselves after about 20 minutes but the vibration function does not.
There is a detachable toy bar which fits over the chair and it has a cute little Rabbaroo toy which attaches with velcro (just incase you were wondering a rabbaroo is a cross between a kangaroo and a rabbit!?!) This is a nice feature although the toy is quite big and hangs quite near to the babys face - she doesn't like it attached to the chair! The toy bar also makes it difficut to take your baby out of the chair easily without banging her head. I would suggest removing this before you take ou your baby! You can of course also hang other toys from the bar that your baby likes.
There is also a safety harness on the chair to stop your little one falling out - this is adjustable and has a padded bit that ges between the legs and the straps then do up around it.
The back rest is adjustable and has multiple positions - simply move it to where you want and secure with the locks onthe side.
There are also handles on the sides for ease of transportation (only when baby isn't in it!!) This is particularly useful for when visiting people as it saves lugging the pram for Charlotte to nap in!
The chair certainly looks very comfortable and Charlotte sits in it several times a day for naps or just so I kow she is safe while I get on with other things!
You can see the chair here if you are interested http://www.cosatto.com/products.asp?pid=58&catid=4&subcatid=401
The chair I think cost around £35. I am not sure if this is the RRP as I bought it from a baby discount store - kiddicare (thats another review!) where things are much cheaper than elsewhere. I would recommend it to all new parents and babies. It is excellent value for money as should last a good 6 months or so.
